Not become a cause for Candle Light..

You can't deny this fact that the  attitude of the Prime Minister of a Nation is nothing but the reflection of the Nation itself.  Our PM's  silence on everything including life threatening situations of the citizens  are  nothing for us to be ashamed of because that's the way we  too are! If Rajiv Gandhi was nick named "Chalta Hai" it jolly well also portrays our image as a nation and as citizens of this great MY INDIA From Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi and to Manmohan Singh there has been no much tilt on our National attitude. Through the years the flow of our  great Rivers have stagnated into clogged up  drains. Our rich heritage and our culture of co-existence have over the years taken heavy beatings. We keep mending our minds through the process of pilgrimage to temples, shrines and holly dips in Ganges, yet our  mind continuous to remain  mentally ...

Let us break our bond with these....

In the name of women empowerment, the family members of politicians, the Bollywood actors and socialites get inducted into the Parliament, the very source of power that can run, ruin, derail, or delight the Democracy of the people and their mandate. The magnitude of our Parliament's responsibility and accountability for up keeping the welfare and safety of the people remain well documented  in the political scripture that we call Constitution of Republic of India. Unless you have the patience to read the  Constitution cover to cover, you will always remain under-estimating the powers of our Democracy  and the institution of governance..... If the rape cases in Delhi as  reported and statistic ed  is alarming, then the actual count of such rapes and brutality will be nothing less than a Macabre of sorts. The public or still better the Police in Delhi may  have lost the count of Rapes reported...

This is Politician's and not People's.....?

From Sonia-ism to Mamta-ism, from Maya-ism to Mulla..yam-ism this country is getting pushed into a political-ism that  demands political appeasement not political reforms. I am sure unless you are  mentally deranged you will never call a demand for  promotional quota for Dalits and going overboard in appeasing  minorities  as any sane  measures of political reforms. The quota politics if carried on can  seriously start  compromising the quality and standard of performance that can eventually jeopardize the economy, commerce and  even the security of the country. Today it remains a major cause of Brain Drain. The ism that we see and applaud has  neither the colour of socialism, nor the look of capitalism. It is all the way  political ism ..Here is a sneak peek...read on.... In Delhi there is a serious shortage of graveyards for burying the dead and gon...

My dear fellow citizens of this great India......'Names-tee'. I am grateful to the almighty for giving me this privilege of addressing such a mammoth crowd. This privilege has come my way not because of what I am but because of who I am. My great Grandfather, my Grandmother and my Father also addressed such mammoth crowds in their own different timelines. To me you all remain a face in the crowd as much as it was for them. I remain both hurt and moved. I am hurt because you claim the country has gone to dogs. I am moved because in spite of your claim you still continue to wag your tails and  happy to be leashed and led. My party may be publicly annoyed  when the politicians opposed to our  thoughts and deeds lash at us on  the floor of the Parliament. But in the hearts of heart we are  happy to keep them  so engaged  in dis -engaging the parliament . Beli...

When Kasab met Osama....

Osama:  Kasab Beta....What a surprise to  find you here...I  thought.... all was very well with you at the Arthur Road Jail ...Anyway I am happy you are here..Now we can together revive our Jihad training program....just for the hell of it....            Kasab :  Chacha Jaan....please leave me alone....I am totally  in a state of shock...I still can't believe that I am now too far away from my home sweet home.....Arthur Road Jail     Osama:  Oh  I am so relieved seeing you here...till now I was feeling so jealous of you. Do you know Kasab Beta....your presence here has broken the myth that Indian Jails are  more safe and comfortable  than Villas of Peshawar..for we the terrorists... Kasab:  Chacha..Jaan...Please give me some time to collect myself....I am totally shattered.. Osama...leaves Kasab alone for sometimes....and returns back...

Once upon a time when Bombay was most preferred city for the Inter State migrants, it grew up and  became  the most Cosmopolitan of all the Metro Cities of India. Also in the process  became the Mecca for job seekers and a  destination for the Dream Merchants.... .. Then came the tidal waves of  Regionalism , which  left Bombay consumed  with the spirit of 'Marathaism', spewing hate for all  Non-Maharashtrians domiciled in Bombay..... Every one from  Gujaratis  to Marwaris from Punjabis to Biharis, from UP Bhaiyas to Bengal's Bhadralok and from Maloos to Madrases  started becoming the target for harassment and rowdyism..... This is the story of the emergence of Shiv Sena , a political party and a political ideology  scripted and nurtured by a man  called "Balasaheb Thackeray".  Gradually Bombay went on to ...

Let's give weight to our 'class'....

Neither here nor there , yet we remain the main thrust in pushing the consumer sale for every thing from TV to Hatchback. If Indigo and Spice Jets are making money,it is because we have become their frequent travelers  Even brands like "Tanishq" has come to respect our presence. We may be irrelevant for the politicians, but we matter the most for growth and health of the exchequer.. We may still not be ready for taking those ocean cruise but thanks to those Holiday packages we do are affording once in a while a Macao and Mauritius vacations. We are no more ignored Banking Customers. We have now become the bread and butter of retail banking products like personal loans, Car loans and Home loans .  If SaS Aur  Bahu TV serials are able to make it to 1000 episodes, it is because of our viewership  If advt. agency is able to save paying a 50 odd corers to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for a bike advt. shoot, it...

I am not anymore sure whether Banking is all about business integrity and customer trust. I am neither sure if  I am influenced by the novel "THE BANKSTER"  that I just finished reading. After all novels are supposed to be fiction and not ground realities  This 365 pager thriller is sure to take you through the sources and cycle of money laundering and at the end it is bound to make you scream...."OMG".... The author of "The Bankster" is a alumnus of IIM Calcutta. His debut novel 'If God was Banker' won him Golden Quill Readers Choice award in year 2008.  Ravi Subramaniam, the author is sure going great guns. His this  novel "The Bankster" has all the ingredients that can see him as emerging John Grisham on this side of the Atlantic. We are generally awed by great Corporate  Bank and their work culture.  and  the intricacy of  their policies. We do believe in t...

Battle for South Asia......

Image
blogadda.com South Asia cannot anymore remain simply a point of discussion for the West. It is time the world around wakes up to the importance of South Asia for international peace and security. Today the menace presence of insurgency in India and Pakistan  has consolidated enough to tilt the very fundamentals of democracy and tell the world that  Democracy do can fight Democracy and not the other way round... Sami Ahmad Khan's  "Red Jihad" is a powerful novel and  remains a thriller right through  its 263 pages. Sami is a young Indian author and a Fulbright scholar This is Sami's debut novel and carries everything that makes a Bestseller. Guns, guts and intriguing politics  wrapped around a time frame of 2014 makes Red Jihad truly engrossing. The plot is built around India and Pakistan with their insurgency factors taking the lead role. Th...

Politics of disrobing 'Draupadi'

Image
We are neither perplexed nor paranoid   by the  political  and  economic upheaval that this great country  is going through. Our Republic may turn 'Banana' so what we are still happy to slip away into our own dreams unlimited. That's what we are...'the mango people'... ripened in poverty , soaked in inflation the only  remains of a democracy that is turning rogue and repulsive with every rising 'son'... Elections are  fast becoming a failure of faith and a mandate of empty words and broken trust. Collusion politics collude not for reforms but for rupturing  regional and religious sentiments. The political philosophy  remains heavily contaminated. As a nation we have seriously run out of thought leadership. How long should we keep defending our lack of initiative for  growth and developments. Simply because we insist that...

Innocence of this world..?

Whenever I am not doing anything, I keep talking to him. When I am in distress I think of him. He gives me the courage to move on in spite of obstacles  My trust in him is simply not breakable. There are occasions  when I yell at him. There are times when he will simply let me down. However my faith in him will always remain  like that of a mountain.. unshakable. He knows this is a world were co-existence in diversity is challenging. He will never ever therefore  get provoked. Be it Satanic or Angelic verses on him, be it act of ridiculing him through film, he seldom gets touched by people' buffoonery. He will always laugh away all the malice towards him. He believes in people's freedom of expression much more than any Democracy can ever advocate. He wonders therefore how can people for his cause become barbaric and start bloodying the world. He finds it funny and annoying when in a world of 8 billion people, a m...

The ....' HEROINE'.....

Image
She comes from a lower middle class family. She lost her father at a very young age. In spite of her family's economic struggles, she determined to pursue her education. She not only graduated but also  mastered in Islamic History. She has proved that a will can always open up ways. It was more of hindsight than planning that found her  hitting the political turf...rest is a living history of a woman who is daringly ambitious and  unpredictably wavering . She could throw a googly without aiming. She  could also spin away from her stand more on presumptions than on principles. She is one rare lady who on 'opportunity calling' can walk back even from a point of no return. For her affordability, is a non issue yet she will never switch from cotton to silk nor she will replace her jholla for Gucci bags. She is the queen of India's collusion politics.Like the queen on the chess boa...

In India today Politics  has not only become too chaotic and unpredictable, it has also become the vital  culprit  in de-railing the train of  reforms and progress. Just for political sake much needed economic and social reforms in the country are being thrown off the track. Taking steam off the growth engine has become a norm with political leaders. This is a clear indicator that in this country politicians will always thrive and drain the economy for the sake of politics and at the cost progress and reforms. I have always held West Bengal as the mecca of most learned and forward looking intelligentsia. It is therefore more saddening  to see people of Bengal choosing a leadership which believes a) Every crime and rape in the state is a conspiracy against the state b)  Reading English Daily is being anti-social c)  Caricaturing of political leaders is  belittling gods d)  Studying  Karl M...

We are projected to become world's  most populous country by close of summer of year 2024. Imagine if this event becomes officially a part of the 2024 Summer Olympics, I am sure no power on  earth can stop us then from bagging Gold Medal..not even China. Which means we will be effectively beating China in the number tally. Today we are 1.2 billion strong and a surviving democracy. Fifty percent of us are below 24 years. This makes us a young and youthful India.  However the youth here continues to remain on a vibrating mode and thus are left unheard and  and unattended. This is the irony of a country which once upon a time was a home for  great  patriots like Saheed Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad to name  a few. This perhaps is also  a major reason for India for  being desperately poor in spite remaining modernized in many fields. Half of our children below 5 years keep dying of malnutrition ...

I call this...beauty of Life!

Image
When  I look at the complete crop of grayed hair sitting on my receding hairline, I don't feel the cramp of old age. I never care to sit down and get some weight off my feet. I am just fine being me. I simply hate  to  go through  SWOT analyzing  the self and remain pretending a full grown professional. I know I am  simply a home spun ordinary man and a face book that anyone can read Happily I don't care to keep a count on 'like&dislike clicks'  Most often I am not quite enabled  to pretend  happiness seeing people,  whom I knew to be duds climbing up the professional ladder with all ease and no strain. This quite often makes me go mad.  I feel duped and keep regretting looking back at my professional career path. Things like this take  time to get off my head. Add to this a discomforting economy and a sinking civic environment also keeps me grumbling and fum...

If India is young @  65  why should I be called an old man @ 63 but I can't do anything about it because half of our population is less than 26 and that is a happy and cheerful note and sure makes us world's most enviable potential. If this precious human resources are tapped and developed in a positive way , there is no denying that 21st century will be ours  for asking. Sadly our great parliamentary democracy has neither the will nor vision to tap this gushing energy. Our National day celebrations remains  reduced to  rituals of pretending patriotism. These are the events which  our Presidents and Prime Ministers use to brag about the 'Freedom struggle. They take this opportunity to talk of Nehru's vision and Gandhi's Stewardship and then leave behind trail of  promises for growth development and wellness. Sixty five  years of talks and promises have passed yet we don't see any sw...

A Nation of obsolete 'Majority'.....

Image
Our winning the  freedom at midnight, the religious intolerance that followed and the aftermath massacre never left any imprint of wisdom in our national political leaders. With passage of time this intolerance became the trump card for our politicians to win elections. Today it has become a political  bank for every politician to operate their electioneering account. This could be a pre-thinking that went behind in declaring India a Secular 'Nation'. The Nation moved on so did the time and gradually political bankruptcy followed. Thanks to the magnanimity of our parliamentary democracy.Today as we gear up for celebrating the 65th year of our independence, all that we see around us is a vast community of spondilized and vandalized political parties and politicians. How can we expect  a Non demanding association  (NDA) or an Utterly puncher ed association (UPA) of politi...

Restaurant Guide 2012..Zomato..a Review

Image
Like frequent fliers,  frequent restaurant goers have also now emerged as a terminology to refer to people who frequent the restaurants in the city  they are based out from. However we cannot expect them to know all and everything  about each restaurants and eat outs spread across the NCR region. Never mind ! Now we have Zomato Restaurant Guide 2012. This book is the print version of the very  popular web site called Zomato.com. that has over 2.5 million visitors, visiting their virtual space every month. The idea of bringing out this book, their first print edition is surely an idea worth spreading.  It gives me therefore immense delight to review  "Citibank Zomato Restaurant Guide2012" Delhi NCR.... This 200 pager sleek with easy to read  fonts,  features over 200  must visit restaurants in the Delhi NCR region. The restaurants are div...

Last President and this Prime Minister...

Image
He undoubtedly is  a veteran congress leader and a staunch  Indira Gandhi loyalist. He is the most seasoned  national politician. He is also  the best troubleshooter for Congress and U PA  He can be singularly credited for bailing out the UPA government from many embarrassment. He undoubtedly stands a lone gentleman in the parliament of rogues and ruffians. Sadly however he has never been able to  emerge  as a magnetic mass leader. He is Mr Pranab Mukherjee. This man, moments away from now  for sure will be  declared elected as the 13th  President of Republic of India In today's putrid political mess, will Pranab Da emerge as the Man who will  re-define Presidential responsibilities  and make Rashtrapati Bhavan less ceremonial and more authoritative....is something which time alone can answer.? However if such transformation happens,...

The art of being.."ME"

Image
The saintly people today seems to be more enterprising and innovative than their predecessors some decades ago. How else  could they  sell 'living ' as an art and mint money, power and more money.I have always believed that living is simply a privilege that is god given and which goes away the moment your  heart stops beating. Now I don't intent  to take a dig at the hordes of God men by saying what I said. I for one simply believe in living my life without making  art and commerce of it.. I don't like the idea of being a  reminiscent I simply believe in moving forward and taking every day head up and feet grounded..Life is about exploring and chartering and not post-morteming  and repenting. That is why I love Geography and prefer History  to rest with the historians Most of the people I have interacted closely and know them for decades ,have done well in life. I may not be enjoying their economic...

No need to hold your breath...

Crimes and Rapes, Corruptions and  Scams, Female feticide & Bride burning  along with Road rage and Rowdyism continues to remain a runaway success in spite of  all those awareness creating 'Jago re Jago' TV   episodes and serials. The puppetry of politics are paving way for social activists and self propelled God heads to play dirty and make business of derailing political climate in the country.  The woe list of people continue to  grow tall with prices and patience hitting a ceiling  beyond the cloud and the sky . Yet we still  hold the  audacity to  Hope for a better and not a battered tomorrow.   Our  king size plights and prejudice  does not lessen our courage to push on and pull on with life and destiny. We remain ambitious, yet are not made of sterner stuff as Shakespeare would put it.It is tr...

Reasons to Smile & Reasons to Celebrate Life,,

Image
Long back in time, when I was a boy scout, I hated to drink plain milk, so my mother used to add a heap spoon full of "Bournvita" to make it utterly buttery delicious and I truly loved it. As a boy I was very naughty but never became the Dennis the Menace, that's why I love this tag line a lot  ..."Brought up right,Bournvita Bright" Today when I am in my sixty,I still hate plain drink,I  always feel utterly bitterly delighted to have my 'old monk' with soda.I feel it makes me nutricious enough to walk straight and  keep  grounded to the reality bites.. Now if that makes me say 'drinking is nutricious"....I am sure it is not going to send all the  liver loving people hitting the Bars.  However  Brand "Amul" does not think that way...that's why it is getting  'Kolaveri-ed' over Cadbury' saying 'milk alone is not nutricious'.. In India today you can never remain frustrated with democracy as long as yo...

The Silly Voter's moments of Crowning Glory.!

Image
Across the Globe Democracy remains  the most preferred form of governance.  It's philosophy "For the people, By the people and Of the people" continues to hit the right chord with the people across the Globe. The year 2010 saw almost an universal upsurge for Democracy. The people in Bolivia, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya,Lebanon, Ivory Cost and Iran demonstrated the audacity to come on the streets to demolish authoritarianism  and fundamentalism to bring in Democracy.. India remains world's largest if not the oldest surviving democracy. We have our share of political upheavals and  communal turmoils, yet we know we will continue to remain not  influenced by Military Coups and Dictatorship that keep rattling our neighborhoods. Our Generals and Solders will always  remain ferocious and dare devils on the battlefields. Our Armed forces have time an...

Will create a dent in Soldiers, discipline

Sitting on my sixty and some, I trail the tracks that I left behind.I realize that I was never a trailblazing person. Be it academics,be it sports, be it my career, I always remained an "also ran" entity. I am sure this has nothing to do with my love for horses, polo and the army. I was never a man of sterner stuff  therefore I knew I would have never made it to the NDA and obviously therefore never have become the part of the  list of the Generals who contributed heart & soul and proved time and again to the world at large that Indian Army is one among the finest in the world. Our Army has always rose up to the challenges of external aggression & internal disturbances simply because of its belief that honour and welfare of the country comes first always and every time. General V K Singh, no doubt is a highly decorated Army officer. He also happens to be the very first Indian armed forces officer t...

Why don't our optimism fail..?

Image
As usual this year  again the  26th January Ceremonial Parade at Rajpat  kept  my  spirit, pride and confidence on the top gear.Today again for me the "Drumers Call' and Abide with Me" remained  the most vibrating military music.at the "Beating the Retreat"  ceremony on  the historic Vijay Chowk. My optimism peaked up when I heard the enchanting 'jugalbandi' of Tabla and Shenai  resounding the Raisana Hills for the first time. With  the splendor of lighting the Majestic Raisana Hills, yet  another Republic Day Celebrations came to a close Military cermonials surely let's us forget the dismal background of our Republic.Such ceremonial parades indeed re-enforces our faith on the Might of our Military forces. The political buffoonery is becoming viral. At times it does make us feel that we are simply moments away from becoming another Banana republic...

If we were not scared of secularism, perhaps we would be talking our mind out about faith, religion and rituals. In spite of being labeled a secular nation we continue to crush our freedom when expressing our views about a religion or a faith. If democracy is all about people's right and liberty, then why some religions stifle the masses and practice fanaticism with obsessive enthusiasm. I am not at anytime for or against any religion. I respect  religious sentiments. If I have the right to take pride of my religion , so has everybody. But that however will never mean that we should   practice intolerance towards  people or sect who dare to put their point of view on the subject. I may have reasons  to love to hate people who may express views about my religion and my faith  that  may remain at tangent to my belief and my faith. However that doesn't give me t...

Stirring the Political Frying Pans..

Image
With 7 states going to the polls, the political parties are sure to remain in shiver & sweat. The nation will witness plenty of mudslinging in the mainstream politics. The year has everything set to shoot up the level of our political frustrations. Let us try to stir the political Frying Pans in the kitchens of major political parties and find what their MasterChefs are frying & prying. This may not get us anywhere but at least help us to smell the aroma of what is cooking for the unwary voters out there. Let us take a peek... UPA : Looking visibly quizzed in managing the tantrums of their Nano Didi who is bent on fielding her own handpicked candidates in Goa & Manipur in the forthcoming assembly polls. We hold no rights to doubt her height to leap into a territory that is beyond the Hooghly banks. On the other hand their Prince Charming Rahul Gandhi may be walking around his confidence to redeem his padyatra miles and Dalit dinners. But will he be able to take the char...

Birth year of a General.!

Image
The New Year revelry that we saw in the city shows that sticky minds and filthy looks still remains a sign of chivalry among our youth. The police wielding the sticks was a well deserving action. Our police force may be harrasing but they surely remain politically the most harrased force in the country. They truly at times deserve our hearty compliments for sticking to their guns. On the other side our political forces continue to use us as the game to checkmate their political opponents . In year 2011 our politicians have also made us realize that all national movements linked to people are sheer tributaries that will eventually flow into the mainstream called politics. That proves Lok Pal was never a people's dream. It was and it will therefore continue to remain a political issue. Thanks to our politicians, the NGO's and the Civil society, for ensuring that this country never runs out of issues. This month five out of the twenty nine states of our Republic will...
