In the name of women empowerment, the family members of politicians, the Bollywood actors and socialites get inducted into the Parliament, the very source of power that can run, ruin,derail, or delight the Democracy of the people and their mandate. The magnitude of our Parliament's responsibility and accountability for up keeping the welfare and safety of the people remain well documented in the political scripture that we call Constitution of Republic of India. Unless you have the patience to read the Constitution cover to cover, you will always remain under-estimating the powers of our Democracy and the institution of governance.....
If the rape cases in Delhi as reported and statistic ed is alarming, then the actual count of such rapes and brutality will be nothing less than a Macabre of sorts. The public or still better the Police in Delhi may have lost the count of Rapes reported. However once in a while when the the Media becomes hyper in covering a Rape case, the entire police force and the city politicians either start scuttling for cover or get emotionally charged in condemning the act, which are nothing but a political strategy to seek their political mileage at the cost of pain and agony of the victim. For the socialites and Bollywood biggies Rape is an incident that brings them to the debating table on the National Channels. With dressed up intellectualism and well clad pretense they debate on the Prime Time slot about Nari Shakti and Modesty . For the NGO it is once again a field day organizing candles and candle Marches everywhere across the city.Of course for the TV channels it is business as usual, "TRP target for Q-3 Met". This Sunday's brutal gang rape of a young woman is one such case that has caught the media's attention.This time the Parliamentarians inside the House also drop all agenda and struggle to remain at their oratory best in condemning the rape. With election just 16 months away the politicians are confident of this strategy working right. Unmindful of all this chaos the victim of this heinous crime lies in the ICU , motionless and in crucifying pain that nobody can either hear or gauge not even the MEDIA.
Honestly this Sunday's rape could have been prevented had all the heavy weight political leaders such as the President of the Congress,CM of Delhi, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha who are all women and are residents of Delhi had joined hands long back and gone all out tooth and nail to keep the Delhi Roads and streets free from the menace called RAPE.Our politicians always are able to have their way achieved in spite of hurdles and obstacles. However they never for once even attempted to make this Capital city absolutely safe for us as it remains for them..This speaks volumes about their indifference towards we the people.
It is time for we the people to come together cutting across religion , cast and community and call upon the Almighty to give us all the strength to save our beautiful city from becoming a Rapist Paradise We are Indian people not Indian politicians and so it is our responsibility to protect the honour of woman in India. For their safety and for our sake let us break our bond with these POLITICIANS
