Please Don't Mess Up !

It's nearing a decade since I turned a senior citizen and also  became  a Morning walk enthusiast. However of late I have stopped the morning walks because I  hate wearing the mask .Honestly this nasty pollution  has screwed up my routine and litterly made me a couch potato. These days mostly I find myself either switching the TV channels or scribbling on the twitter. I remain so possed with the deteriorating enviornmental situation that even in my dreams I remain "environmentalized"  A conversation that I had with "Mother Earth " in one of my dreams is a proof..... ..Here I go.... ME: Morning walking in the nearby public park, I hear somebody calling me from behind. I turn back and  what I see...the "Mother Earth" sitting on  a nearby bench. She looked so worn out and sad almost tired out. I go and park myself  in the bench beside her and I wish Good Morning "Mother Earth" Mother Earth: What Son....this is a "Smoggy

Are we...? Essene of this Democracy!

The other day I was trying to cross the road at Rajpath in Lutyens Delhi  I found a zebra crossing adjacent to the traffic signals. Since the  lights had just turned red I thought it was safe to cross the road using the zebra crossing. But I was wrong , a white Scorpio with a political Party flag fluttering zipped past me. It nearly brushed me. I was completely zapped, The Scorpio paused   after a distance ,just to hurl some much spoken abuses in Hindi and fled away. I remained so stunned that  for a moment  I almost forgot that I was in the middle of a busy road  Any way God was kind and  I came home in one peace. The incident reminded me  of a passage of a book that I read  recently.  This book was about a highly qualified Indian technocrat settled in Bonn Germany. In one of the many conversations that he was having with one of his Indian friend  visiting Germany as a tourist is this.... "You see here when a pedestrian is on the zebra crossing all the speeding

Being Hindu & Being Indian..!

I am a Hindu. In principle I believe in vegetarianism. However I am not against people who make animal their food. Neither I   discriminate in the people's  preference of meat.  I don't indulge in dictating the food habits of the people. I am  pained to see every one blaming my religion for  promoting Cow vigilantism and  lynching human lives.   The  name Gandhi is being used by the  politicians to loot the country, so also being Hindu is used  to divide the people. Of late   Hindutva  has  become a handy tool for politicians to propagate hate and violence. My religion like other religions has   predominantly become a  political vote bank. Today the so called intellectuals in the country even  brand Hindu as being a militant.  My religion today has become a mute spectator of political instigation and manipulations.  Hindu religion  is a faith, a faith that is born out of truth and dharma. A faith that has stood on its own legs for centuries

Reading between the Political line.....

The Karnataka electioneering  campaign was one of the worst seen  in recent times . Our political parties continue to keep  weaving  political issue out of cast and religion  In the recent political campaigning in  Karnataka it was   ligayate, hindutva and Dalit issues that kept the political vocal cords most aggressive unmindful of the disgusting level it touched.  It is a common sense  that for our National Media , standing independent is never a sutainable business model . So they by default remain a sold out political venture. Paid media is what is generally they are know as . The poll result for Karnataka will be out on 15th so  let us not go by the media debate that promises to keep our national viewers shifting their political opinions. We all know that a BJP win in Karnataka will help this political party to open their account in Tamil Nadu and Kerala  In case Modi and his  BJP  is  able to build an inroad into Southern states they will become the most political su

Karnataka Polls..2018

Politics is rarely beautiful but in India today it is much more uglier than we ever thought so. KARNATAKA state in southern India is today a poll bound state. It will be going to polls on 12th of May to  elect 224 MLAs. This state is currently ruled by Congress and her allies. BJP and Modi being in the center of POWER in India today are desperately looking forward to take away the reigns from Congress. In spite of Modi's  global popularity, the BJP has so far not been able to make her grand political entry  into South like it has done almost the entire of  North ,West and to some extent EAST. Though so far they are unable to make inroads into Bengal. Having said that, BJPs desperation to win this poll is very evident. Even their so called heavy weight CM Yogi camped in Karnataka. This UP CM was discoursing with the Hindu Sages for ban on cow slaughter. when his own State was bleeding hell.   I feel pity for the people of UP getting politically slaughtered for electing Yogi A

Is our RTI ..becoming our pipe Dreams.....

Right to Information Act 2005,mandates timely response to the citizens for government information. The credit of making the government implement the act goes to Aruna Roy, a social activist known for her efforts to fight corruption and promote government transparency Today much more  than over 100 countries around the world have for their citizens the Freedom for information in some form or other Since  2005 over  1.50 crores of Indian citizens have filed application under RTI. Over the time RTI in our country has become very popular.  Some years  back it was so much like  our faith in our independent judiciary. Times have changed now. Much over 100 citizens stands martyred under RTI and over lac  remain harassed and intimidated for questioning the governance. A whistle Blowers Protection Act was enacted in year 2011 to safe guard the lives of a citizen asking for information under RTI However for reasons not known this  Act does not stand implemented  till today' Did you kn

Guardians of our heritage....

"Adopt a Monument" is a  govt scheme under tourism dept. The idea was was first mooted in year 2001 under PM Vajpai's  govt. However it was subsequently taken up by Congress govt and they did go with Ratan Tata adopting Taj Mahal. However even after sinking more than 2 crores Ratan Tata  was helpless since govt of that time was more involved in scams. The current scheme "Adopt a Monument" is a carry forward of  what the Congress govt  left unfinished. Now since the Congress is without power it is attacking it as sell off.. It is evident the opposition  politicians in this country will never allow the govt to move forward with good work Dalmia Bharat group won the bid for adopting RED FORT , one of the pride heritage of India under the tourism Department's "Adopt a Heritage Scheme"  Currently under this scheme there are over 300 heritage locations across the country. Currently bid for 28 locations is in process , The responsibility of

Let us wake up to a 'MODI mood' in 2019

For the very first time in Independent India, impeachment motion against the Chief justice of the country is  gaining ground .Truly the national political party  CONGRESS is bent on making  our judiciary a political 'Akkhada'. This   proves  Congress party's desperation to project itself  to become  politically relevant in a country which threw them out from national politics some four years back for  being the most scam ridden political party of India. This nation took quite a lot of time for coming to that conclusion. It is of course no denying fact that PM Modi has lost lot of shine off him and his  party,  post winning the ballot battle lock stock and barrel way back in year 2014.The present govt did spend the last four years more into digging out the wrongdoings of the previous govt and has truly done precious little to improve the well being of the people who gave them their trust to becoming  a catalyst for change. This  is very much disappointing. Having a b

It was  a summer of  the very late 50's when we shifted to Delhi from Bangalore. By the way my father was in the Indian Army and we  were posted in Bangalore  for almost 5 years.  Looking back; Yes, my Bangalore days were truly golden . I still remember how I cried and cried in the Shaktimaan while we were travelling to the City station, Bangalore. I have never cried like then while leaving any city.We have been posted to Allahabad and Calcutta previously but Bangalore was different Gone are those days so let us move on.  After a long journey of 52 hrs in the Grand Trunk Express we reached Delhi on a hot sultry afternoon in July. . It was on our way from the New Delhi Station to the Cantonment in Shaktimaan truck that I saw  the PARLIAMENT HOUSE for the first time , I  was  truly proud of the  Edwin Lutyens, the architect of Delhi Those were the real  days... my friend. Now it is  more than 60 years and Delhi has changed beyond identity. Is it for good ,bad or ugly is a d

India today celebrates her 68th  year of Republic. I would yet  prefer to state that its her 69th year of  Republic because that is  what  the governance of India today wishes us to believe and I am one of those who has of late started believing  that Democracy is much more about  "for the politician,of the politician  and by the politician" There is absolutely no doubt  that PM Modi  will always remain our first choice of Prime Minister not because he is the first P M of India who had invited the 10  heads of the foremost ASEAN nations for attending our 69 year of Republic Day.  Nor because he happens to be the first PM who has made us believe that India today needs to be more Swachh and Swasth rather become a Garibi Mukth Des.  Mera Des today remain counted as one of the  most sickly and polluted countries in the world and people here living in poverty still rot. Swatchh and Swasth Bharat thus remain a superficial political slogan like Garibi hatao But that do

Reign India beyond 2019

No doubt politics is a game of opportunity. Way back in year 2014, failure of Congress  to contain people's  utter frustration became BJP's opportunity to come on Nation wide lime light  and for MODI it became a well tailored opportunity to showcase his "Gujarat Model" and rise above the party to become the very face of BJP , the rest as we all know is history. Today MODI the Prime  Minister,  MODI the Global Leader and MODI the very BJP is  becoming the  very  household word   I being one among the billions who have given Modi and the BJP a brute majority, find ourselves  mute spectators of an arrogant BJP  notwithstanding the fact that we remain  the largest working Democracy of the world. It will not be wrong of me to claim that under  Modi's Premiership  the Scams which where the hall mark of Congress Govt have dwindled drastically. It will not be be wrong of me to say that both  our executive/bureaucracy have become approachable and responsive. I
