Guardians of our heritage....

"Adopt a Monument" is a  govt scheme under tourism dept. The idea was was first mooted in year 2001 under PM Vajpai's  govt. However it was subsequently taken up by Congress govt and they did go with Ratan Tata adopting Taj Mahal. However even after sinking more than 2 crores Ratan Tata  was helpless since govt of that time was more involved in scams. The current scheme "Adopt a Monument" is a carry forward of  what the Congress govt  left unfinished. Now since the Congress is without power it is attacking it as sell off.. It is evident the opposition  politicians in this country will never allow the govt to move forward with good work

Dalmia Bharat group won the bid for adopting RED FORT , one of the pride heritage of India under the tourism Department's "Adopt a Heritage Scheme"  Currently under this scheme there are over 300 heritage locations across the country. Currently bid for 28 locations is in process

, The responsibility of  operation and up keeping of this most prestigious monument  for the next 5 years will be of Dalmia Bharat group. The bid amount is over 25 cores. Of course overall supervision will continue to be with ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). Such schemes are very much in use in western countries specially Italy  After all why should culture, history and archaeology be a monopoly of the State .Why can't pvt capital enterprise take a lead and get involved in up keeping the heritage efficiently

In our country the  ASI is in a mess.and our prestigious monuments are run like CPWD properties. Govt's  move to involve corporate  as a part of their CSR  is  truly appreciated.  Dalmia Bharat taking the up keeping of Red Fort will in return be allowed to use it to enhance their brand value  After all pvt participation is a question of  caring and not just a question of Money.

If this govt's scheme  "Adopt a Heritage" works well, I am sure very soon we will have Adani's Taj Mahal and Reliance's Parliament and for the love of Mike do  not call this crony Capitalism .This is all about being on the right side of India Today . Of course we the people will always  remain the  true inheritors of this  heritage and  Democracy  No questions asked.

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...
