Karnataka Polls..2018

Politics is rarely beautiful but in India today it is much more uglier than we ever thought so. KARNATAKA state in southern India is today a poll bound state. It will be going to polls on 12th of May to  elect 224 MLAs. This state is currently ruled by Congress and her allies. BJP and Modi being in the center of POWER in India today are desperately looking forward to take away the reigns from Congress. In spite of Modi's  global popularity, the BJP has so far not been able to make her grand political entry  into South like it has done almost the entire of  North ,West and to some extent EAST. Though so far they are unable to make inroads into Bengal. Having said that, BJPs desperation to win this poll is very evident. Even their so called heavy weight CM Yogi camped in Karnataka. This UP CM was discoursing with the Hindu Sages for ban on cow slaughter. when his own State was bleeding hell.   I feel pity for the people of UP getting politically slaughtered for electing Yogi Adityanath.

In this poll bound Karnataka for both Congress and the BJP , it is their allies that matter the most; yet  the most vulgar  political dog fight that we witness here is between  BJP heavy weights including our PM and Congress stalwarts including  their most talked about President.

Sadly both BJP and Congress are trading blows at each other and  doing their dirty best to divide the electorate on the basis of Religion Cast and Dalitism and corruption. By the way people of this Nation have realized that corruption in this country is a realty they have to live with,  notwithstanding which political party takes over. None of these parties are talking anything constructive about infrastructure, employment, pollution,  KaveriWater issue and the fate of the Farmers.

The capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru stands out as the intellectual capital of India  It is the most sought out hub for Start Ups. It is today regarded the  Silicon Valley of the East  All this is happening with minimal help from the political parties that rule the State.  Bengaluru in spite of being one  heavily polluted  and having a choking traffic is still  the most sought out city for all ace technocrats world around. I am sure in a decade or so this city will emerge as the Silicon Valley of this Planet.

I think people of this State knowing the quality of our politicians will largely remain indifferent to any political change. I  am truly Bangalored in spite of the political chaos .

MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...

CLARITY IN CHAOS

The Bhagavad Gita is a living scripture  universally relevant  today as it was 5000 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. It is a divine conversation that took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra  between two best  friends, Lord Krishna the Charioteer and Arjuna the warrior.  'Bhagavad Gita' is an integral part of of Indian mythology  I have always believed mythology is not for everyone including me.  So when my friend, the author of the book  "Understanding Bhagavad Gita", gave me a  copy to review , I was not very comfortable.  I like  'Arjuna'  started looking for excuses . However one day not very soon , "The Recipe For A Better Life " the part of the title  hooked me into reading it The author has covered the essence of 'Gita' inside the  160 pages, through   eighteen Chapters.  Every chapter has an "Introduction", a "Summary" and a "Reflection" The simplicity of his writing gives...
