Farmers cannot runaway from....

This morning in flat 10 minutes BJP got the  2 contrversal "Farmer bills" passed in the Rajaya Sabha through a sham voice voting amidist the panddemonium created by an  urully opposition .Once again our parliamentary democracy witnessed an udemocratic voting  system being  uleashed  No debate. No diascussions , Bill passed.. The two Farmer bills that got passed today were (1) The Farmers' and Produce Trade and Commerce(Promotion and Facilitation) Bill,2020. (2)Farmers(Empwerment and Protection)Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm services Bill,2020. The above bills that now become a statutory law will  take away a major revenue stream of the States. Additionally it will in times to come bring in big Corporate Houses spreading their wings into Agricultural products. Further since the govt will let go its control on minimum support Price assured to farmers(MSP), the farmers specially the margainilzed farmers will become victims of giant Corporate Houses  Before this Mans

It was the landslide victory in the GE of year 2014 that gave BJP the glittering vision of its political future. The Party’s total faith on its political Slogan “Modi hai to Mumkin hai” then became the party “Bible”. Soon thereafter “Modi” became BJP’s very definition of Democracy .For the first time in the political history of India the voters of the world’s largest democracy decided to unconditionally     agree to not disagree with Modi’s political and administrative decisions. For the people in general Modi’s word became a “Satya Vachan” unmindful of his “Mann Ki Baat”.No doubt he has become the pied piper for the masses. The masses that constitute almost 400 million illiterate people plus over 300 million people living in abject poverty. These are the numbers out of the 900 million total eligible voters that we have in the country at the close year 2019. Incidentally the average voter turnout in any GE generally remains below 60% and bulk of which constitute the illitera

Back in 2014 the Nation was so pissed up with Scams and Scamsters that for the first time it decided  to vote out a Party and vote in a Leader. This was  how Narendra Damodardas Modi arrived on the National  political arena. The rest is history.  Today less than 100 days away this  Nation will once again go  to polls  This time  will this Nation  elect a "PARTY", a MAHAGATHBANDHAN" or a "LEADER" is  a wait and watch scenario till about July  when hopefully the outcome of 2019 General election will be known.  It is therefore no exaggeration  when I  say that  the entire Nation today including our Media channels are busy predicting and debating Election 2019  PM Modi's  working style right from year  2014 has  led  us to believe that he intends to turn  our Democracy  into a dictatorial regime. This may be fairly true and perhaps  needed too.  We are a country of 134 crore with  a  cacophony of religious, cultural and social disharmony. Our p

The other day I was trying to cross the road at Rajpath in Lutyens Delhi  I found a zebra crossing adjacent to the traffic signals. Since the  lights had just turned red I thought it was safe to cross the road using the zebra crossing. But I was wrong , a white Scorpio with a political Party flag fluttering zipped past me. It nearly brushed me. I was completely zapped, The Scorpio paused   after a distance ,just to hurl some much spoken abuses in Hindi and fled away. I remained so stunned that  for a moment  I almost forgot that I was in the middle of a busy road  Any way God was kind and  I came home in one peace. The incident reminded me  of a passage of a book that I read  recently.  This book was about a highly qualified Indian technocrat settled in Bonn Germany. In one of the many conversations that he was having with one of his Indian friend  visiting Germany as a tourist is this.... "You see here when a pedestrian is on the zebra crossing all the speeding

The Karnataka electioneering  campaign was one of the worst seen  in recent times . Our political parties continue to keep  weaving  political issue out of cast and religion  In the recent political campaigning in  Karnataka it was   ligayate, hindutva and Dalit issues that kept the political vocal cords most aggressive unmindful of the disgusting level it touched.  It is a common sense  that for our National Media , standing independent is never a sutainable business model . So they by default remain a sold out political venture. Paid media is what is generally they are know as . The poll result for Karnataka will be out on 15th so  let us not go by the media debate that promises to keep our national viewers shifting their political opinions. We all know that a BJP win in Karnataka will help this political party to open their account in Tamil Nadu and Kerala  In case Modi and his  BJP  is  able to build an inroad into Southern states they will become the most political su

For the very first time in Independent India, impeachment motion against the Chief justice of the country is  gaining ground .Truly the national political party  CONGRESS is bent on making  our judiciary a political 'Akkhada'. This   proves  Congress party's desperation to project itself  to become  politically relevant in a country which threw them out from national politics some four years back for  being the most scam ridden political party of India. This nation took quite a lot of time for coming to that conclusion. It is of course no denying fact that PM Modi has lost lot of shine off him and his  party,  post winning the ballot battle lock stock and barrel way back in year 2014.The present govt did spend the last four years more into digging out the wrongdoings of the previous govt and has truly done precious little to improve the well being of the people who gave them their trust to becoming  a catalyst for change. This  is very much disappointing. Having a b

India today celebrates her 68th  year of Republic. I would yet  prefer to state that its her 69th year of  Republic because that is  what  the governance of India today wishes us to believe and I am one of those who has of late started believing  that Democracy is much more about  "for the politician,of the politician  and by the politician" There is absolutely no doubt  that PM Modi  will always remain our first choice of Prime Minister not because he is the first P M of India who had invited the 10  heads of the foremost ASEAN nations for attending our 69 year of Republic Day.  Nor because he happens to be the first PM who has made us believe that India today needs to be more Swachh and Swasth rather become a Garibi Mukth Des.  Mera Des today remain counted as one of the  most sickly and polluted countries in the world and people here living in poverty still rot. Swatchh and Swasth Bharat thus remain a superficial political slogan like Garibi hatao But that do

No doubt politics is a game of opportunity. Way back in year 2014, failure of Congress  to contain people's  utter frustration became BJP's opportunity to come on Nation wide lime light  and for MODI it became a well tailored opportunity to showcase his "Gujarat Model" and rise above the party to become the very face of BJP , the rest as we all know is history. Today MODI the Prime  Minister,  MODI the Global Leader and MODI the very BJP is  becoming the  very  household word   I being one among the billions who have given Modi and the BJP a brute majority, find ourselves  mute spectators of an arrogant BJP  notwithstanding the fact that we remain  the largest working Democracy of the world. It will not be wrong of me to claim that under  Modi's Premiership  the Scams which where the hall mark of Congress Govt have dwindled drastically. It will not be be wrong of me to say that both  our executive/bureaucracy have become approachable and responsive. I

Not very longtime back politics in India essentially was dominated by upper class families and so called ancient political inheritors. Then politics predominantly was a practice of dividing the public on the basis of their religion, ethnicity and class.  Even decades and decades after independence, we as a nation never came any were closer  to  what Gandhiji the Father of our Nation had planned for us. Corruption, poverty, unemployment, lack of education, lack of proper sanitation and communal intolerance kept the nation hooked to politics of intolerance and economics of uncertainties.  Gradually people started losing hope of any revival from their political leaders and it became a commonsense that politicians came to power only to use it to suppress and throttle other political parties from rising up. They used their political power to nurse their arrogance and quench their hunger for  "moh maya and money".  It was in such hour of extreme disillusionment and disappoi

In spite of being a  political newbie he was able to send shock waves into the camps of veteran political parties. Overnight he became the fear factor for both Congress and the BJP. This bureaucrat turned social activist turned politician took  no time in becoming the   political  darling of the people of Delhi. The frustrated people of Delhi who had almost decided to press the NOTA button in the upcoming state elections saw themselves jubilantly pressing away the 'Broom' button. The outcome of the Delhi State Assembly  Polls saw Sheela Dikshit  and the  Congress bite the bullet and the BJP  shelved and  shocked. It was a  historical emergence of a party that matched the mood and mannerism of the ordinary people.Truly this Party brought to the Delhi's Political scene a culture that redefined the importance of being an Aam Admi.  Every one from Auto drivers, to man on the street, from Middle Class family to the inte

In Cricket  winning the toss  and the condition of the pitch may hold some significance in  wining the match. Cricket  may be infested with politics but politics is not cricket. In cricket  22 yds rectangular ground is called the pitch. But the ground reality in politics is that here  people are the pitch and they are not yards but numbers that cross billion mark and  can also turn desperate at times It was the desperation of the people in Delhi that created the AAM ADAMI wave which  eventually blew the wind off the Congress and the BJP. Now that Congress has agreed to disagree with BJP and have allowed the 28 seater AAP to carry the burden of governing Delhi let us aasume hypothetically for  coming five years . Arrivind Kejeriwal and his team have  been tasked to bat, it is worth our vote to keep a  note on how they face the short pitch and political bouncers. With congress umpiring the match, the BJP is bound to go all out looking for match fixing.  The coming day

On Wednesday Delhi's  habitually indifferent electorate turned out in droves.to cast their vote. The  elites of Delhi drove down to the respective  polling booths and the  Mango people made it on foot to their designated polling booths. For this city of  Tombs and Minarets, yesterday's 74% turnout was quite monumental. This speaks volumes about betrayed sentiments and frayed angers of the people pulped up by the indifference and arrogance of governance. Where City's civic agencies bleed  corruption, there the city's police force suffer the chronic dis-availability  of  able and refined  policing  to check  the speeding menace of  crime, rape and juvenile delinquency. The time was just right enough for the people of Delhi to use their Democratic  right presumably to  say enough is enough.... Incidentally the new born Aam Admi party rising up to phenomenal popularity has helped the people of Delhi to pin for a brand new alternative other than the BJP. However it will

It was not people's need, it was politician's greed that saw India being partitioned on the basis of religion that fell pray to politician's ambitions. No prayers thereafter could halt one of the world's gruesome genocide that consumed people not  politicians. If this nation had not succumbed to politician's lust, perhaps today our neighborhood would not have turned  into a breeding ground for ' terrorism' .Perhaps then this nation  would have had almost a 'no war' record post the British Raj. More importantly perhaps Kashmir would have continued to remain our  divine state and not have become a devastated matter of discord.  It would be more appropriate to mark 15th of August as the day when this country decided to wash away people's desire and succumb to political greed. What happened then in 1947  was, beginning of the History of the Nation that was axed and hacked for political convenience. This nation today at her 67th year of partitio

You can't deny this fact that the  attitude of the Prime Minister of a Nation is nothing but the reflection of the Nation itself.  Our PM's  silence on everything including life threatening situations of the citizens  are  nothing for us to be ashamed of because that's the way we  too are! If Rajiv Gandhi was nick named "Chalta Hai" it jolly well also portrays our image as a nation and as citizens of this great MY INDIA From Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi and to Manmohan Singh there has been no much tilt on our National attitude. Through the years the flow of our  great Rivers have stagnated into clogged up  drains. Our rich heritage and our culture of co-existence have over the years taken heavy beatings. We keep mending our minds through the process of pilgrimage to temples, shrines and holly dips in Ganges, yet our  mind continuous to remain  mentally chocked and perverted. We say we can't see others suffering, yet  we continue our cruelty to animals.

Let us break our bond with these....

In the name of women empowerment, the family members of politicians, the Bollywood actors and socialites get inducted into the Parliament, the very source of power that can run, ruin, derail, or delight the Democracy of the people and their mandate. The magnitude of our Parliament's responsibility and accountability for up keeping the welfare and safety of the people remain well documented  in the political scripture that we call Constitution of Republic of India. Unless you have the patience to read the  Constitution cover to cover, you will always remain under-estimating the powers of our Democracy  and the institution of governance..... If the rape cases in Delhi as  reported and statistic ed  is alarming, then the actual count of such rapes and brutality will be nothing less than a Macabre of sorts. The public or still better the Police in Delhi may  have lost the count of Rapes reported. However once in a while when the  the Media becomes hyper in covering a  Rape

In spite of her family's economic struggles, she determined to pursue her education. She not only graduated but also  mastered in Islamic History. She has proved that a will can always open up ways. It was more of hindsight than planning that found her  hitting the political turf...rest is a living history of a woman who is daringly ambitious and  unpredictably wavering . She could throw a googly without aiming. She  could also spin away from her stand more on presumptions than on principles. She is one rare lady who on 'opportunity calling' can walk back even from a point of no return. Our winning the  freedom at midnight, the religious intolerance that followed and the aftermath massacre never left any imprint of wisdom in our national political leaders. With passage of time this intolerance became the trump card for our politicians to win elections. Today it has become a political  bank for every politician to operate their electioneering account. This could be a pre-thinking that went behind in declaring India a Secular 'Nation'. The Nation moved on so did the time and gradually political bankruptcy followed. Thanks to the magnanimity of our parliamentary democracy.Today as we gear up for celebrating the 65th year of our independence, all that we see around us is a vast community of spondilized and vandalized political parties and politicians. How can we expect  a Non demanding association  (NDA) or an Utterly puncher ed association (UPA) of political  bodies to steer clear  the nation from an economy that is drowning and a crime graph that is mou

He undoubtedly is  a veteran congress leader and a staunch  Indira Gandhi loyalist. He is the most seasoned  national politician. He is also  the best troubleshooter for Congress and U PA  He can be singularly credited for bailing out the UPA government from many embarrassment. He undoubtedly stands a lone gentleman in the parliament of rogues and ruffians. Sadly however he has never been able to  emerge  as a magnetic mass leader. He is Mr Pranab Mukherjee. This man, moments away from now  for sure will be  declared elected as the 13th  President of Republic of India In today's putrid political mess, will Pranab Da emerge as the Man who will  re-define Presidential responsibilities  and make Rashtrapati Bhavan less ceremonial and more authoritative....is something which time alone can answer.? However if such transformation happens, it will be a breather relief for democracy and the people and perhaps add a well needed  learning  for the  Congress and the UPA to realize that

"CORRUPTION" remained a passing point of reference in the beginning of a free India. With passage of time it went on to become a handy subject to cut ice and keep conversations rolling. Then as years rolled by it started becoming a matter of discussion for everybody from Rickshaw puller to cyclists, from auto drivers to Taxi Drivers, from Maid servants to Memsahibs and from Baboos to the Bosses. Then came the millennium and with it came along mighty SCAMS. Very soon Madu Koda, Adarsh Society , Raju's Satyam, Kalmadi, Raja& Radia spectrum all became household names. The country started seething with suppressed anger.... Come year 2011 and enter "Anna Hazare" who went on to become the face of the people. His War cry against Corruption became mightier than the sound of Bofors Anti tank guns. As a true Gandhian he promised to train not trigger the guns on evil called corruption.... Overnight "Mai bhi ANNA", "Tu bhi ANNA" becam
