Today, this colossal lifeline which sustains over four hundred million people is gasping for breath. Billions of litres of toxic sewage and industrial poisons suffocate her waters every single day. Tragically, her sacred name has been weaponized as a highly profitable cash cow. Billions of taxpayers' hard-earned rupees have vanished into the bottomless black hole of grand, loudly advertised river-cleaning campaigns.
Even the ultimate sacrifice of scientist-turned-monk Professor G.D. Agarwal, who tragically lost his life after a gruelling 111-day fast to protect the river, could not permanently shatter this deep-seated political apathy.
Ganga’s fading water still carries a profound moral lesson for all of us. She teaches us selfless giving, quiet resilience, and unconditional inclusivity by embracing the saint and the sinner alike.
River Ganga is our living ecosystem. Let us not collaborate to make it a bottomless toxic pit. It is time to end unholy politics and save our holy River. The political dispensation should be made accountable for every penny of the taxpayers money spent and stolen in the name of "Namami Gange" !
