Restaurant Guide 2012..Zomato..a Review

Like frequent fliers,  frequent restaurant goers have also now emerged as a terminology to refer to people who frequent the restaurants in the city  they are based out from. However we cannot expect them to know all and everything  about each restaurants and eat outs spread across the NCR region. Never mind ! Now we have Zomato Restaurant Guide 2012.

This book is the print version of the very  popular web site called Zomato.com. that has over 2.5 million visitors, visiting their virtual space every month. The idea of bringing out this book, their first print edition is surely an idea worth spreading.  It gives me therefore immense delight to review  "Citibank Zomato Restaurant Guide2012" Delhi NCR....

This 200 pager sleek with easy to read  fonts,  features over 200  must visit restaurants in the Delhi NCR region. The restaurants are divided into 19 categories  to suit different occasions, right from a family dinner to a  'just you and me ' kind of dinner for couples. The glossy pages and good photographs  makes flipping the pages an  interesting affair. The  cell phone generation will find the use of QR codes(quick Response code) an added reason to go for the book.

The user guide given in the beginning  and the indexing on the last pages  makes your search effortless. The writings have a touch of humor that makes the browsing  interesting and engaging. I for one like the 'Everyday survival guide' and I am sure every beer lover will find it a quenchable delight...to suit varying moods and moments..

The restaurants covered  looks exhaustive. However  some of the famous Purani Delhi food does not figure.
For instance I did not find Ghantewala Halwai and Gali Paranthewali of Chandani Chowk. Also the book does not mention the famous Faluda joint called Giani Di Hathi in the Fatipuri area . It would also be a great value add if the restaurants listed out in the  book  are sorted out location wise.

All said this book is worth keeping handy while you are on the move.It can save you a whole lot of headache in choosing an eating space to suit your mood, occasion and  your wallet  of course. I like the Note taking space provided in the end. One can use it to jot down  an  experience of  fine dining .Again  if you are a Citibank cardholder you would definitely love going through the Citibank dining privileges. The book is priced at little less than Rs200 and at this price it simply is value for money spent...Go for it...
