The "Sarkar'' of Marathi Manus....

Once upon a time when Bombay was most preferred city for the Inter State migrants, it grew up and  became  the most Cosmopolitan of all the Metro Cities of India. Also in the process  became the Mecca for job seekers and a  destination for the Dream Merchants.... ..

Then came the tidal waves of  Regionalism , which  left Bombay consumed  with the spirit of 'Marathaism', spewing hate for all  Non-Maharashtrians domiciled in Bombay.....

Every one from  Gujaratis  to Marwaris from Punjabis to Biharis, from UP Bhaiyas to Bengal's Bhadralok and from Maloos to Madrases  started becoming the target for harassment and rowdyism.....

This is the story of the emergence of Shiv Sena , a political party and a political ideology  scripted and nurtured by a man  called "Balasaheb Thackeray".  Gradually Bombay went on to  become Mumbai and Balasaheb Thackeray started  literally  ruling  the city. Some where in his political journey  he also went on to become an un- pronounced God of all Marathi Manus

Being a Non -Maharashtrian  I may have enough reasons to disagree with Balasaheb Thackeray's political ideology   However I cannot but admire his command over the State. At a time when Indian politicians simply survive on vote banking politics, here was the politician who neither advocated secularism nor ever shyed  away from taking pride of Hinduvta. I truly  remain awed by his singular and dynamic Leadership.

Today  India is  getting into  the verge of  leadership bankruptcy. Therefore the  lose of Shri Balasaheb Thackeray  is sure to be felt at the National level. Also the chemistry of  the State politics is bound to re-act chaotically with the passing away of this gutsy  "Sarkar"of Marthi Manus...

Shri Balasaheb Thackeray...May your Soul Rest in Peace....

Being in Maharasra since Asiad 1982 the tag of being a NON-Maharstrain and the discrimination meted out espically in college still haunts me even after 15yrs. Its a shame for the people of Mahastra to discriminate people even on the basis of technical skills.
Recalling a very sad incident when my proffessor Mr Milind Gujarkar under the guidance of Mr Uday Gadkari proffessors at Priyadarshini College of Engineering and Architecture assulted me in front of the whole class & even predicted that i am a failure in life.Suprisingly people who were maharastrians seldomly attended lectures & were well connected to politicians were been given full internal marks to project them as achivers There was another incident when a fellow non maharastrian student my junior committed sucide when these fellow professors himiliated him .Unable to bear this non nonsense he consumed poison and these fellows took all the efforts for the case to meet a dead end. Suprisingly the management rewarded them with coveted posts for these efforts.I very sad that these incidents will never see any light of the day let alone the justice that fellow or me can ever dream of.15yrs have passed since i left india and maharastra i hope now people may change and not forget that marathis also venture out for there livehood and god save thenm if they have to face such a situation

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

Just about...being a "Father"

A new world greeted them with smile and happiness when they... "Just met" and soon for them the wedding bells rang... Now, they are happily lost in their own world & together are learning to set- up a 'Home’ of their own... away from what was a home for them a little earlier in the year....That's "his" daughter & "his" son in-law. ..Being very adorable, the house has become little less chirpy after her moving out….. …."He" now does feel the boredom...but will never show it off... Because "he" is the father ...and expected to put on a stern face & always remain a 'matter of fact' person..... He is all set to explore & build-up a learning curve that may see him well in life in about a couple of years from now. After his graduation he may probably start living away from home in a distant land in pursuit of excellence...That's "His" son Being the darling of the house, "he" is...
