Making Life a lively..living......

One thing that we all remain definite is about years. Yes,we all know exactly the number of years that we have been breathing and making our own little waves felt in the world around us. However most of us who are around now for lot many years do feel the discomfort of disclosing it in social circles. Age may be a mind set or just a figure but aging certainly is so agile, that we hardly come to realize, when was it when we started using "L'Oreal" to keep our gray black & glowing or when we added "OLE" wrinkle cream to our cosmetics to wrestle away the wrinkles from our face.... Talking for myself I have always believed in keeping my hair just the way they are ie gray & sparse. For me my cosmetics have always been just "BryleCream" and "Old Spice". I would always prefer to spend enough to walk around with my beer belly, rather spending on wrestling away the wrinkles from my face. Having said all this I still carry the enthuse of the s

a city..lost....

Beginning of the year I promised myself to keep all my posts for 2010 talking about my city..the city I grew up with....My DELHI..This Delhi has so much fascinating and interesting history that you can never tire yourself writing about her glory and historic heritage. The Shah Jahan's old Delhi & Lutyens New Delhi always reminds me about history walking hand in hand with yesterdays of today & tomorrows. The old Delhi with its vibrant, bright colors, narrow alleys and thronged bazaars equally fascinate me as much as the sky touching buildings, zipping flyovers & Metros of New Delhi... In spite of all this love for my city, did my posts through the year ever carried enough about the city .All the posts through January to December just only few posts talked about Delhi, out of even this few much remained a critic of 2010 commonwealth games..Should all this mean I am loosing my connect to the city that I always knew as Merri-Dilli... May be the unbridled crimes and stalking

Stupid..... Indian.?

The Whistle- blower website Wiki Leaks maintains that a top Singaporean diplomat described India as 'stupid'. Now that's not fair of a small country with big dreams to talk about 'India of my dreams'...which was authored by a man called Gandhi who also became the cause and effect of 'my India' waking up to freedom at midnight some 63 years way back in history... 'My India' today is one of the most secular nations in the world. So what if our secularism remains a vicariously vicious political tool to exploit people sentiments to ridicule and belittle our much talked culture of unity in diversity... 'My India' today is the largest democracy in the world which empowers we the people to elect the government of our choice. So what if the elections have come to become a Russian Roulette when it comes to triggering for right leadership... 'My India' today has enshrined in the constitution my fundamental right to freedom from all kinds of di

MY Almighty..

Whatever happens to us in life,we attribute it to our destiny and our karma. That's the way we connect self to GOD. This is one of the the realization we gain from our knowledge of life and living. However this knowledge alone is not enough to keep us afloat, awake and aware in this flat world of knowledge. I am not a book worm. I have never gained the patience of sitting through the hard bound and paperbacks. The only time I flick through magazines is when I am waiting for my turn at the barber shop. However with receding hair growth,my visit to barber shop has almost become a vanishing act,yet I take pride to be counted as part of the knowledgeable crowd. I have never read about 'Niccolo Machiavelli' the father of Politics of modern times, yet I know that politicians are the only social animals who pretend conscience without having one... I have never read Charles Darwin's "The Origin of Species" still I have knowledge enough in my command to prove that Darwin&

How long will be long enough....

Was it media ? Was it the politicians ? Or was it lack of absolute co-ordination between various govt agencies that left Mumbai burning for over 48 hours on that fateful day of November 26, 2008. All these will remain some of the questions and small talks that will be show cased as debate over our national channel as part of 26/11 anniversary episodes. This will be made an opportunity for the elite and so called intelligencia of our society to come dressed up and brushed up to give their brand 'I' a boost in front of the camera. Perhaps few of the surveyors and family members of the victims will also be interviewed forcing them to go through an agony they want to forget. The public as usual will light up the candles at Gateway of India as a mark of respect to those unlucky departed souls. Now with the sun setting on 26/11,it will be same time one year hence to see and hear the same repeats. When do we, the people realize that terrorism is a political issue and it is a politi

A conversation with self...

Scams, scandals, corruptions are today the utterly bitterly layers of spread over the democratic surface of this incredible India. You don't anymore need to discuss weather as a starter for a great conversation.Anyways being an ardent supporter of Green Peace movement I would love to start rolling this "conversation with self" with a brief take on climate change and global warming.. The global climate negotiations seems to be always hitting a dead lock because of global corporate lobbying. This could therefore be the reason that we still don't have in place any global legislation on global warming. Well let me move away from the heat before someone attempts to create a political storm of sorts. By the way I still don't understand what makes the world leaders at the recently concluded Leadership summit to believe that India is a power emerged and not any more a power emerging. They hold that our economy is growing at almost 8 to 9 %.Now how is that so when I stil

It's Different..

You can't label me Maggi mania just because I am using their ad line for this post. Also I should say I have never ever tasted 'maggi' though it ever remains a great snacking for my family. Now 'it's different' when I say I love 'Maggie' because I am now talking of the character in the comic strip "Bringing Up father". However unlike Mr.Jiggs (Maggi's husband) I continue to be in the working class and don't forsee inheriting any wealth to make me a nouveau-riche. Now whatever I said so far do inspire me to use this post to write something about "making a difference" & truly it's different... I believe that in today's complex world nobody can stop getting into trouble one way or the other. Anything from your boss(HARI SADU) to your credit card and your car parking space can create trouble for you. However if you are tactful in handling the situation, you are able to get out of it and 'makes the difference'.
