What is your "cast"..?

We do carry on pretending to be progressive and broadminded. However the fact remains that we still both as individuals as well as a community continue to remain emotionally aggressive when it comes to our "cast". "castisim" therefore is one of the most 'vicious' bullets that our political parties use for gunning their victory at election as well for staying in power. 'Cast' definitely continue to remain on the forefront in elections both at Gram panchayat level and state level. They also remain very vibrant at the national level in "general elections". In spite of our "Democracy" and the "Preambles" of our constitution we as a nation still have no "political will" to "castaway" "cast" from politics. Inclusion of "CAST COUNT" in the coming up national "CENSUS" is a proof that no political parties in this country has today any serious and sincere "agenda" to liberate this country from the clutches of "cast wars" and "religious sentiments". The "Mandal" commission" and the "Reservation Raj" that are eating into nation's "intelligentsia" and demeaning the very definition a "deserving category" are stark evidence of our "perverted national political" agendas.

Anyways in this coming up national census when the 'enumerator' will ask you "What is your cast"..? Take a chance to "lie" about your "cast status" and try to quote a "cast" that come under the government's list out of "reserved categories". This way you will be helping your children in getting into "Medical" and "Engineering" colleges without draining your life long "savings". Also this will "brighten" the chances of your "sons" & daughters" getting into secured employments in "government" establishments. Today in India more than "academic brilliance" it is your "cast" that make you a more "deserving" case.

Please don't be "guilty" about telling a lie. Remember even the man like "Yudhisthir" in "Mahabharat" had to tell a lie in order to protect his country. Now as they say 'charity' begins at home..so for the sake of a "deserving" happiness of your family, don't fumble when answering the enumerator's question...what is your cast....?

Hmmm..I can agree with you to a certain extent..for the casteism deeply rooted in Indian society..but, there are many who do not give a thought to it. Like me. So in the census..especially here, I don't have to put my "caste" down( I think it is offensive to include it in a census anyway) I only put my ethnicity.."East Indian"
