'GOD'...Tussi Bhi...?

."Whenever you are in crisis ...'don't Panic just 'call him'..he will 'bail' you out from the situation." His grand mother always said this to him.He always believed his grand mother...because.. she was everything to him. . He was now 20 and very handsome.... had come all the way from Delhi to this city of dreams to become a hero.He was crossing an adjacent street somewhere near to Mumbai stock exchange..when he heard the earth shaking blast and was witness to all chaos and screams that followed....he was on his feet the entire night running the the victims to the hospitals and; pulling the dead from the debris......He was so focused in his Samaritan work....he just forgot to 'call him'. It was 12/3...1993. He was 32 now and just married. He & his wife where busy eating the 'Gol Guppas' at a corner shop in 'Sarojini Nagar'..suddenly the entire area rocked with screams of people and street turned bloody...he and ; his...

Blasted.....

Even when I am not crossing the roads,I am not sure the vehicle on the fast lane will not suddenly sever and run over me.It is nightmarish to walk on the roads. I want to go for the movies, but I am not sure if I will come home to narrate the story to my family.I love to run down to market and pick up fresh vegetables for my Sunday lunch, but am not certain if I will make it back.I like shopping on Id, Diwali and Christmas, but I don't know if there will be a Diwali,Id or Christmas for me. I am not a pessimist.I believe in "HOPE" & like to live my life king size. I don't fear death.I understand death is the only certainity for we the 'living'. But what I hate is the agony of my people looking for me in the debris of a blast and waiting for the DNA test to prove.... that what they picked up was parts of 'ME' that was....just a split back the blast.........

"TATA"......"NANO"

The common man is just a face in the crowd that nobody notices,I think "West Bengal" is the best example of this "face in the crowd".How long will be... 'enough' for this face in the crowd to stand up and get noticed that it so badly deserves. At a time when India is being looked at as the global destination for trade & business, here we have a state on the shores of "Bay of Bengal" that remains lost amidst waves of political ambitions and decaying ideologies. It is pathetic to see one single politician's ambition washing away the employment & entrepreneur opportunities of lakhs of jobless 'bread-winners' of the state. At a time when no Indian industrialist want to venture into 'West Bengal', Tata Motors took the initiative to set up their "NANO" factory here. However, political ambition of one individual is now frustrating them to move out lock, stock & barrel from 'West Bengal'."The drive on the...

My 'GOD' & 'Me'

GOD : Of late I don't find you coming to the temple.. Me : Cutting through the over crowded bazaars,..jumping all those pot holes on the roads,.. trying to navigate through a chaotically managed mad traffic, & inhaling the suffocating stench of urine & garbage pile-ups,...the walk to the 'temple' is becoming more of an ordeal than a 'shrdha'. As though this is not enough...the absence of street lights in the evenings & the local hooligans free play all around ..it is ... literally making my trip to the temple a nightmare. I have therefore stopped going to the temples. GOD : Nightmare ..!and ..for you !...I don't believe it..looks like you have got everything you wanted.. and so you think you don't need me any more. Me : How can you say that?.You are my only HOPE. GOD : Don't give me that humble talk..you know & I know .... you are virtually the power that stalk the length & breadth of this country. Probably it is your greed for more ...

The race for "BRAND"

Image
‘I beg to differ’,-I said . I was addressing my ‘mind’…little ticklish though it remains my most enlightening companion... At this point it was debating about what Gandhi & Gandhisim was all about. One part of my ‘mind’ was saying that ‘Gandhi’ was an epitome of humanity . The other part maintained that ‘Gandhi’ was a true karam yogi.. It was at this point that I intervened and said, I beg to differ… not that I carried any difference of opinion ….it was simply meant to keep the conversation rolling..Having said that, I took a pause ;..noticing my 'mind’ giving me a look that said 'how sad we have to endure this stupid companion for the rest of our soul' .On my part however I never want to lose my mind over matters of historical interest. This perhaps became my reason to do a soul searching to understand what is Gandhi all about...read on to know what is Gandhi in "India...... Today"... … ‘Gandhi’ in my my opinion is a "Brand" that sells and sells like...

No Magic ..Just a 'Belief"

Alright its been a while since I've wrote anything but I'm back.I just finished reading 'David J.Schwartz's "The Magic Of THINKING BIG".It not only tells you to set your goals high but it also leads you into exceeding it ...through its 337 pages ....it keeps the reader motivated .....at the end of it "The Magic Of Thinking Big" is all about how your perseverance and 'can do' attitude can make your dreams come true... .......and how true it is.... I just realized as I read the week's News head line that said...."BARACK OBAMA clinches Democrats nomination for the 'White House'. Barack Obma, an African American and visibly a total stranger to power politics of Washington....to have come this far is a sort of live endorsement to the Book "The Magic of Thinking Big".. At the time of 9/11 Obama was told his name would probably finish his political career since Obama sounded too similar to Osama...and here he is today on...

Dear Mr.BUSH

This blog is in reponse to the following news item in HT (4th May 08) " participting in an interactive session in Misssouri on friday Mr.Bush said: " worldwide there is increasing demand. There turns out to be prosperity in developing world, which is good... "it(prosprity)also, howeever, increases demand. So for example, just as an interesting thought for you, "there are 350 million people in India...clasified as middle class. That's bigger than America. Their middle class is larger than our entire population. "And when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food and so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up" then there is a caption that says "Look how much they are eating"............ Y our above comments on the Indian middle class speak of nothing but ignorance of your realistic knowledge on the subject. It pains me to realize that how the most powerful personality in the global arena could afford...
