Dear Mr.BUSH
This blog is in reponse to the following news item in HT (4th May 08)
"participting in an interactive session in Misssouri on friday Mr.Bush said:
"worldwide there is increasing demand. There turns out to be prosperity in developing world, which is good...
"it(prosprity)also, howeever, increases demand. So for example, just as an interesting thought for you,
"there are 350 million people in India...clasified as middle class. That's bigger than America. Their middle class is larger than our entire population.
"And when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food and so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up"
then there is a caption that says "Look how much they are eating"............
Your above comments on the Indian middle class speak of nothing but ignorance of your realistic knowledge on the subject. It pains me to realize that how the most powerful personality in the global arena could afford to be so irrelevant in his commenting.
We, middle class Indians have better sense of responsibility and better things to achieve in life. We are an epitome of tolerance .We engage ourselves in generating wealth in an ever expanding global knowledge economy. We are neither amused nor amazed by your latest comment about us. How ever, we feel pity to realize that your sense of humour is as deteriorating as your sense of economics. Now it is for your fellow Americans to comment on your common sense.
Ignorance can never be bliss especially when you are at the helm of leading the most economically powerful and influencing nation of the world.
Mr. Bush do please take a read of the lines that follow.
Now let me update your knowledge about the values of us the so called ‘classified Indian middle class’.
An average Indian middle class is mostly vegetarian and vegetables are most nutritious food .For an average Indian, wealth is not all about money but much more about culture and religion. We are not demanding, we are a ‘giver by nature' .We give food to the needy. We pray for peace not for war. We take pride in our rich heritage yet remain humble in advocating it. We are never arrogant. We believe in forgiving, but never forget gratitude. We believe in family bonding .We cherish our wisdom .We believe that knowledge can never be borrowed. We acquire knowledge. We understand knowledge is power still we advocate a knowledge sharing culture.
After you finish your term at “white House” I would like to invite you to spend sometime in India .It will be the most cherished privilege of the 350 million classified Indian middle class to have you 'Mr. Bush' as our most honourable guest.
For us the Indians a Guest is always a GOD….and this is right from the heart…and we call this DIL SE
Incidently what you just read will remain a food for your thought. It is not at all demanding in nutrition yet value adds to your knowledge caloric bank.
I am also sure it promises to be an ‘eye opener’ when you raise your toast next time for the cause of ‘envy thy neighbour’…never mind we still respect to be associated as the growth engine of global economy….
Comments
On the whole a very fine letter. Cheers..
