Anna..the "SWOT" of our politicians...

Neither any politician nor any political party can survive and thrive without the convenience of corruption. Therefore corruption will always remain an integral part of all political system. If this was not so, the Jan Lok Pal would have been instituted way back 40 years, when it was first mooted. The fight & squabble over Jan Lok Pal bill that we are witnessing today is a political gimmickry. It is helping to keep the masses and the political parties engage in warring for wearing out time ,energy & attention from crucial economical and political upheavals that remains eroded for want of parliamentary focus and debate.

My intent is neither to discredit Anna Hazare nor direspect his war for JAN LOK PAL. My intent is to opine my views on this. To my mind it looks that if and when the JAN LOK PAL will take shape it will become a maze of complicated govt manual with clauses, annexures that can support interpretations which can help the clever heads & seeking minds to manage corruption more lucratively.

In today's fast track and demanding environs no one can afford to remain a paragon of virtues and that goes for Team Anna too. Let us not therefore get carried away by agendas and manifestos of political movements sporting people mask.

We very recently saw at Jantar Mantar all the opposition political parties sharing the stage with Anna Hazare. No it was not to demonstrate a call of unity to weed out corruption. It was simply a political compulsion and desperation of opposition parties to hitch their wagon to STAR ANNA.

Today no political party be it UPA or NDA can draw as much crowd as Anna Hazare can pull. Therefore Anna is bound to become strength, weakness, opportunity as well threat(SWOT) to all our political parties.

MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...

CLARITY IN CHAOS

The Bhagavad Gita is a living scripture  universally relevant  today as it was 5000 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. It is a divine conversation that took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra  between two best  friends, Lord Krishna the Charioteer and Arjuna the warrior.  'Bhagavad Gita' is an integral part of of Indian mythology  I have always believed mythology is not for everyone including me.  So when my friend, the author of the book  "Understanding Bhagavad Gita", gave me a  copy to review , I was not very comfortable.  I like  'Arjuna'  started looking for excuses . However one day not very soon , "The Recipe For A Better Life " the part of the title  hooked me into reading it The author has covered the essence of 'Gita' inside the  160 pages, through   eighteen Chapters.  Every chapter has an "Introduction", a "Summary" and a "Reflection" The simplicity of his writing gives...
