For the “Tiger” not in the “wood”..?

In the very recent past I had the opportunity to visit both “Ranthambore” National Park” off “Sawi Madhopur” and “Jim Corbett” off “Ranikhet”. I spent my ‘patience’ and two nights on the “Machans”, yet I could not even spot the 'pug marks' of “tiger" any where. It does send me into believing that “Tigers” have vanished from the “woods”. I remain now totally confused on the government’s arithmetic of “1411”. Why not we seriously contemplate to target on some other ‘animal’ for our “national symbol” instead of living in vanity with “Tigers” that are there no more. Here are some options that come to my mind. “Jungle Bees”. In case we can call this an 'animal'? They have the potential for dispersing unruly political 'rallies'. A heat on their “butt” is enough to ignite them. However I am not sure if the “Bees” have butts”? ... “Cows”. They are found in plenty, on our streets and roads. It will also help in preventing these stray “animals” from ending u

It’s Time to Move On!

In today’s real time "India" “National symbols”…are not expected to infuse a sense of pride and patriotism in us. They are instead expected to connect to the people of the soil on an “as is where is basis”. I see our national game “Hockey” no where near in achieving this. We are still not able to promote this “game”. This in spite of all those 'symbolic' attempts by media, Bollywood and & government. ”Hockey” is a very energetic game and the basic skill required for playing “Hockey” is the ability to control, pass, push, stop and shoot the ball with your hockey stick. It is both beautiful and impressive to watch a player with good stick handling skills controlling the ball while sprinting the length of the field, or weave through the sticks and legs of defenders to create a chance for shooting at the goal. Playing “Hockey” indeed calls for a lot of stamina and energy. Sadly today none of us have any thing much to contribute to “boost” our energy for “Hockey”. In

Women’s reservation a “no need”.?

I don’t subscribe to any school of thought that practices male chauvinism. Though I was never a student of political science, I do understand that Article 14 of our constitution guarantees equality to women and article 15 guarantees no discrimination and the article 16 talks about equal opportunity. Post 62 years these constitutional fundamentals are still not being seen whole heartedly practiced in our society. I call this a lack of "political will". Today if this is being re surfaced as “woman’s reservation bill, it is simply a political maneuvering to gain political popularity. I don’t understand how reserving “181”seats in “Lok Sabha” for woman is going to prevent the “pervert” political minds from exploiting "woman" I can neither imagine nor believe that this “181” parliamentary quota for "woman" is going to help those millions of unfortunate "women" in this country, who in spite of all talk about "woman empowerment" are not allow

chonk gaye kya..!

From 'colas' to 'cosmetics' and from 'toiletries' to 'detergents' ,it is we the consumer who influence the wining edge for the product as well contribute to all the shakes and moves of their sales graph. In short it is we the consumers who remain both a king maker and an uncrowned king in the FMCG market. However somewhere in the chain of the events it is them who make a joker of us through their creative ad that get into our head without influencing our brain. For instance in spite of my using anti dandruff shampoos, the dandruff continues to remain cozy and comfortable inside the scanty growth over my head. My skin still continues to remain “dark and not glowingly” even after exhausting tubes of “fair & lovely”. The white shirts that I wear to office is anything but a “safedi ke chamkan”. Even my wife’s hopping from "Rin to "Tide" & "Tide to Rin" has not helped my shirts to "wash away" its paleness. I still or

Budget 2010, a fueling frustration..!

Union Budget is all about economic of forecasting. John Kenneth Galbraith said about the 'economic of forecasting and I quote "The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectable." Incidentally it is the "Aam Aadmi’s" blind faith in 'astrology' that is keeping the ritual of union budget a standard of 'great expectation' for him. The impact of year 2010 union budget will defiantly remain our media’s most discussed and widely analyzed affair in the coming days. However it will be the "Aam Aadmi" who will be bearing the brunt of this budget. You will see how the tiny hike in the cost of petrol and diesel will add fuel to the already speeding prices of "kitchen essentials". It will be any economist’s delight watching the "Aam Aadmi" coping with life, as prices will start shooting to new heights "break less" and "unabated". Again an "Aam Aadmi" would have prefer

Drawing 'attention' to being 'attractive'...

Historically speaking we have always remained a point of "attention" for the world around. It was the "East India" Company's attention that eventually turned us into a "British subject". Again our journey from being a "British Colony" to becoming an "independent India" saw us getting into a huge bandwidth of attention from across the globe. We hogged the lime light for our classic "freedom struggle", which remains the first ever "battle for freedom" based on the concept called "non violence". Today in the free and a "Democratic India", we remain glorified for our poverty and slum dog culture. Besides all this, we do still keep the 'world's attention' for our 'spiritualism' and 'yoga'. Now since we continue to 'hog attention' of the 'world' around for one thing or the other, it doesn't make sense for me to keep going with such listing. I th

Cut,Paste,Publish..!

The 'Pune" bomb blast did prompt me to once again touch on the subject 'terrorism'. However I gave it a 'second thought' and decided instead to post something on the "tigers", the 'animal' that is taking all our attention, since it is felt that this magnificent 'cat' of the 'jungle' has come to become an 'en-dangered specie'. Terrorism on the other hand remains a 'sporadic' and 'random' killings of human beings', a specie, that remains 'cheaply' available in 'abandon' for some more couple of decades. Therefore there is no 'business' or 'ecological' urgency to initiate any project on "save human life,Fight terrorism". Again when I post anything on 'terrorism',it will be strictly a 'repetitive' of my previous 'posts' on the subject. The only value add that I will be making is editing the number of 'lives lost', the 'lo
