Why don't our optimism fail..?

Image
As usual this year  again the  26th January Ceremonial Parade at Rajpat  kept  my  spirit, pride and confidence on the top gear.Today again for me the "Drumers Call' and Abide with Me" remained  the most vibrating military music.at the "Beating the Retreat"  ceremony on  the historic Vijay Chowk. My optimism peaked up when I heard the enchanting 'jugalbandi' of Tabla and Shenai  resounding the Raisana Hills for the first time. With  the splendor of lighting the Majestic Raisana Hills, yet  another Republic Day Celebrations came to a close Military cermonials surely let's us forget the dismal background of our Republic.Such ceremonial parades indeed re-enforces our faith on the Might of our Military forces. The political buffoonery is becoming viral. At times it does make us feel that we are simply moments away from becoming another Banana republic...

Tolerating the intolerance of few...

If we were not scared of secularism, perhaps we would be talking our mind out about faith, religion and rituals. In spite of being labeled a secular nation we continue to crush our freedom when expressing our views about a religion or a faith. If democracy is all about people's right and liberty, then why some religions stifle the masses and practice fanaticism with obsessive enthusiasm. I am not at anytime for or against any religion. I respect  religious sentiments. If I have the right to take pride of my religion , so has everybody. But that however will never mean that we should   practice intolerance towards  people or sect who dare to put their point of view on the subject. I may have reasons  to love to hate people who may express views about my religion and my faith  that  may remain at tangent to my belief and my faith. However that doesn't give me t...

Stirring the Political Frying Pans..

Image
With 7 states going to the polls, the political parties are sure to remain in shiver & sweat. The nation will witness plenty of mudslinging in the mainstream politics. The year has everything set to shoot up the level of our political frustrations. Let us try to stir the political Frying Pans in the kitchens of major political parties and find what their MasterChefs are frying & prying. This may not get us anywhere but at least help us to smell the aroma of what is cooking for the unwary voters out there. Let us take a peek... UPA : Looking visibly quizzed in managing the tantrums of their Nano Didi who is bent on fielding her own handpicked candidates in Goa & Manipur in the forthcoming assembly polls. We hold no rights to doubt her height to leap into a territory that is beyond the Hooghly banks. On the other hand their Prince Charming Rahul Gandhi may be walking around his confidence to redeem his padyatra miles and Dalit dinners. But will he be able to take the char...

Birth year of a General.!

The New Year revelry that we saw in the city shows that sticky minds and filthy looks still remains a sign of chivalry among our youth. The police wielding the sticks was a well deserving action. Our police force may be harrasing but they surely remain politically the most harrased force in the country. They truly at times deserve our hearty compliments for sticking to their guns. On the other side our political forces continue to use us as the game to checkmate their political opponents . In year 2011 our politicians have also made us realize that all national movements linked to people are sheer tributaries that will eventually flow into the mainstream called politics. That proves Lok Pal was never a people's dream. It was and it will therefore continue to remain a political issue. Thanks to our politicians, the NGO's and the Civil society, for ensuring that this country never runs out of issues. This month five out of the twenty nine states of our Republic will...

Finding our SUNSHINE...

Shakespeare maintained that this world is a stage and we are merely the actors who come and then go away GOD knows where. Perhaps this is a reason why no one wants to take the ownership of this stage, that we call the Earth. Money and power continues to win over governments & people . Exploiting and destroying the ecology and environment continues unabated. We are becoming our worst enemies. This earth is our home yet we allow it to stifle with carbon poisoning. The EARTH is struggling under the weight of 7 billion people . The temperatures are rising, cyclones and massive devastation of land is occurring. Whether we realize it or not, it remains a fact that we are today living on the edge.. Are we heading for a doom or are we there already..? Let us leave that for the year ahead to answer. For now we know the year 2011 was full of life and for which we are the living proof. I have the gut feeling that year 2012 will be a great year for all of us...Because I know we ...

Thank you GOD for keeping me beating...

I am a STAR today. Never mind if the 362 days that I leave behind does't recognize me even as a spot boy . In this computing age it is what you see is what you get(WYSIWYG) Nobody today is interested to check your yesterdays. It is a busy world. We all remain so busy that most of the time we don't know where everyday our 84000 seconds fly away. In this fast moving time we can't pause to check how we spend our 84000 seconds. Time has never been money for us. Most of the time we remain notoriously liberal in spending it. Be it a political movement, a civil right movement or an NGO shout,we simply flock behind without even pausing to know whose cause we are fighting.. We value money because we can make use of it to keep ourselves happy, prosperous and at times arrogantly powerful. Where as time for most of us simply is about good time, bad time and well spent time. We never give it a money denominator. Had we be doing it so we may be feeling aghast in seeing our IST Sc...

I am STUPID!

Image
One area that I plan to cover more frequently in the future is books. I have never been a book worm and my DU mark sheets are a raw proof to that. I don't regret about it. Instead I am happy it has saved me from burning midnight oils. Anyways I was never interested in the idea of being a night owl cramming all those Economics. Imagine how awkward I would look in that group of owls called parliament. Today I would have been a point of ridicule both for Anna & the Aam Aadmi . In my DU days the professors bragged about Economics being a social science. However now with receding gray matters and graying hairline economics for me has proved more of art and nothing of science. Economics today is an art for hoodwinking people in accepting that poverty is a matter of mind not body. Therefore I would have been going around asserting that a common man can live with Rs 32/per day even in this era when gravitational force has no pull over inflation. Not only that I wo...
