Elections 2017 .. A test of Confidence & Optimism

The only time when the politicians remain totally united is when either the Parliament or the State Assembly has to give approval to MPs and MLAs salary hikes,or rising their allowances and other perks.Otherwise pulling at each other remain their everyday need .Eventually it is the  election time when they are at their "malicing best".

Ten States this year will be going to the polls. From this month to end of March, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab,Goa Uttarakhand and Manipur will witness massive political jamboree. As I write this post, Punjab and  Goa have completed the poll with a voter turn out of 83%(Goa) and 79%(Punjab) while  UP is all set to poll on the 11th.

The Presidential election will be held in July this year. This year therefore is going to be an all election year. No other country in the world has so many elections and so often every year as we have. .Also no country remains as noisy and as festive as India during election times. Incidentally this 2017 is going to be the biggest electioneering year since 2014 when  Narendra Modi and not BJP  swept the General election an achievement that was spectacular enough to leave the rest of the political parties gasping for breath. This year is going to be the  litmus test for the Prime Minister to once again prove to Nation the importance of being a Narendra  Modi.

To-day BJP has a majority in Lok Sabha but has hardly any presence in the Rajya Sabha where members are indirectly elected by the state legislatures. So Modi, the face of BJP has to win substantially these State elections to enable BJP to action their various Economic reforms agenda including GST the one most revolutionizing reform in the sphere of indirect taxation  Also winning substantial seats in the State legislatures will give BJP the opportunity to hand pick their nominee for the post of the 14th President of Republic of India. The President of India is elected by an electoral college comprising of MPs and MLAs

By the way every win in these State elections will  also be a people's endorsement of  Modi authored demonetization drive that had practically made the 1.25 billion stand in the Q  to draw their own hard earned money and that too in  bits from Banks and ATMs

Let us hope Modi's confidence and BJP's optimism pays off..!

They have lost their "JOSH"" to protest for their fundamental right to breath. MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...
