SLAPPING on the FACE

India is a welfare nation. This means govt role is not limited to collecting tax and protecting life and property It has also the responsibility of overseeing the growth of the people by ensuring that adequate food, shelter are provided to them. Also implementing proper Health and education program to ensure general health and literacy of the people. In short it is the responsibility of the state and central government to see that all welfare measures are implemented and monitored.

We the people therefore elect our government under parliamentary democracy to ensue we as a nation as much as people remain a story of growth, development and prosperity(GDP) However the stark reality is an altogether a different story..A story of horror, plight, pain and insecurity.

We are today the nation that has become politically bankrupt. Politicians and political parties are lost in fighting out for power, greed and vengeance. Our Parliament remains paralyzed with non performance. The country has become an open house for crimes& criminals, scams& scam esters and terrorist&terrorism. India has to a greater extent becoming a land of chaotic political confusion drifting in a sea of of mismanaged priorities.

In this country every12 hours a debt ridden farmer commits suicide due to abject poverty. We as a country are talking of nearly a quarter of million farmers committing suicide. This means two farmers a day are committing sucide since last15 years. The figure by all count remains a crude stab and a slap on the face of our governance. Yet no political or social leadership have ever stood their ground in protest.

Now when a frustrated common man slaps on the face the politician and minister who incidently happens to be also responsible for farmers plight, the attack is strongly condemned in the parliament. This is the irony of our Democracy. If we can't laud Harminder Singh for his brave act, we the meek at least can collect courage to condone his act of SLAPPING on the FACE.

MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...

CLARITY IN CHAOS

The Bhagavad Gita is a living scripture  universally relevant  today as it was 5000 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. It is a divine conversation that took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra  between two best  friends, Lord Krishna the Charioteer and Arjuna the warrior.  'Bhagavad Gita' is an integral part of of Indian mythology  I have always believed mythology is not for everyone including me.  So when my friend, the author of the book  "Understanding Bhagavad Gita", gave me a  copy to review , I was not very comfortable.  I like  'Arjuna'  started looking for excuses . However one day not very soon , "The Recipe For A Better Life " the part of the title  hooked me into reading it The author has covered the essence of 'Gita' inside the  160 pages, through   eighteen Chapters.  Every chapter has an "Introduction", a "Summary" and a "Reflection" The simplicity of his writing gives...
