When the earth quakes...


When the earth moves beneath our feet they say it is because Atlas shrugged.? The ground can open up and swallow the people. Earthquake is becoming frequent. Only a week or so back we had a bomb blast followed by earth quake. The govt has already proved it can't do anything to prevent terror attack and now the nature is keeping us reminding that we can't do anything to prevent earthquake. So why worry about something that we can't help.....

Never mind we all still love our life dearly ...so why not remain prepared in case earthquake comes knocking without ringing our door bells. I am sure NATURE will not let us down yet...we have lot to work on.. like winning our war against corruption, seeing Kassab swinging on the ropes and other blah blah. So here I go keying in what comes to my head without waiting to pause and hear my heart beats. Delhi just rocked.. .My desk top digital is showing its 6.15 PM and its a Sunday evening on the go...so start on ... with tips that can save us if we are willed to survive...

During the earthquake:

If you are indoors,stay there. Get under and hold on to a table or a desk. Stay clear of the exterior walls. Stand against an interior wall . Try to be away from glass and heavy furnitures

If you are in the office building stay away from windows and outside walls. Don't use the lift

If you are outside in the open stay clear of buildings and power lines & lamppost. Anything that can fall on you.

If you are driving move the car outside the traffic and stop. When driving watch out for caving roads.

If you are in a crowded place don't panic. Stay low and cover your head and neck with your hand and arms

After the earth quake:

Always have some food and water ready and a first aid kit handy. Be prepared to fend for yourself & the family members for a week at least, since govt help normally comes late.

Have portable fire extinguisher, dry batteries and torch handy.

Let all the members in the family carry the contact number of an 'out of the area' friend or relative to whom one can call & check the whereabouts in case one of you go missing.

Just about...being a "Father"

A new world greeted them with smile and happiness when they... "Just met" and soon for them the wedding bells rang... Now, they are happily lost in their own world & together are learning to set- up a 'Home’ of their own... away from what was a home for them a little earlier in the year....That's "his" daughter & "his" son in-law. ..Being very adorable, the house has become little less chirpy after her moving out….. …."He" now does feel the boredom...but will never show it off... Because "he" is the father ...and expected to put on a stern face & always remain a 'matter of fact' person..... He is all set to explore & build-up a learning curve that may see him well in life in about a couple of years from now. But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'.
