Stirred, not shaken..

A couple of 'martini' always does help me in not mincing words when I speak. But I swear I am not an alcoholic. I am hardly any good in mixing drinks. Anyway I don't give a damn to anybody....

Well that's precisely is what is happening to the great Indian democracy. Nobody gives a damn to anybody. Right from the PM to the glorified political strategists in the South Block, right from Finance & Home Minister to the Babus in North Block.. nobody gives a damn to, the country and to the people. The prevailing scenarios on the streets and the corridors of power & politics may not be signalling the demise of rule of law in this country but they sure are emerging signs of a decaying political system of a parliamentary democracy...

How should we react to the UPA government's move to coronate RahulGandhi as the Prime Minister without taking People's mandate.? Unfortunately our Prime Minister in power does not like interfering in family affairs, nor does he believes that communication is good for his political health. In short in our Democracy such network problems will continue to keep our concerns out of reach.

We cannot afford to hate democracy simply because it has become a power to motivate and promote a dynastic regime. However we do can afford to shout our frustration now and then can't we..?

By the way if I am shouting my frustrations without mincing words, it simply means my faith in our Democracy remain stirred, not shaken...

Sir, I agree that the system of parliamentary system is decaying. We were not fit for it and many amongst our founding father were aware of this fact. But they appeared to have buckled under the pressure from the Britishers who were on the exit.the colonialists ensured that we join their family of Common Wealth and adopt their model of democracy. Now we are wasting our energy and resources for elimination of corruption by combating with the wrong doses of medicines withoout diagnosing the disease. Instead, the agitatios should be channelized for revision of constitution through constituting a fresh Constituent Assembly which can interfere with the basic structureas of now. Eutopia. Who is going to allow it.But seems to be the only right thing to be wished at this stage.

MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...

CLARITY IN CHAOS

The Bhagavad Gita is a living scripture  universally relevant  today as it was 5000 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. It is a divine conversation that took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra  between two best  friends, Lord Krishna the Charioteer and Arjuna the warrior.  'Bhagavad Gita' is an integral part of of Indian mythology  I have always believed mythology is not for everyone including me.  So when my friend, the author of the book  "Understanding Bhagavad Gita", gave me a  copy to review , I was not very comfortable.  I like  'Arjuna'  started looking for excuses . However one day not very soon , "The Recipe For A Better Life " the part of the title  hooked me into reading it The author has covered the essence of 'Gita' inside the  160 pages, through   eighteen Chapters.  Every chapter has an "Introduction", a "Summary" and a "Reflection" The simplicity of his writing gives...
