Cattle @ home but bull outside...!.

When Shashi Tharoor in good humor used the term "cattle" to refer the common Indian all the political parties and politicians were furious and got busy giving statements to the press & the media condemning the reference. Of course these were as symbolic as paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj ghat...

Now when the Indian students are being "Radio tagged" at the US universities none of the politicians and their parties seem to be giving any teeth in their condemning the Americans for their deplorable actions as well their attitude of arrogance towards Indians. The government also is simply doing nothing beyond giving official statement, which are nothing but diplomatic rituals.

Even the Indians living in America who today by their sheer numbers exercise unprecedented political influence in American politics remain deep in their slumber.

Why we as a nation always remain overboard in our being influenced by everything about America& Americans..? When will we learn to shed our complex and rise up for our dignity & our pride..?

Did we really need one Barrack Obama to tell us that we as people and as a nation make an indispensable India...? Don't we know that India today has become the very survival economic kit for America and the West. .!

For God sake let us wake up and collect our guts to tell America that it is our knowledge power and our vibrant human resources that are serving & sustaining America. Lets make them realize that they cannot take our liberalized attitude as liberty to keep bullying us.
We don't mind being cattle at home but we defiantly need to be a bull out side....

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
