Calling Munnabhai a "Papu"!

He is one of the finest actor. Perhaps the only one in the Bollywood who refused to buckle down in spite of  terrible traumas and  tragedies of  life.  Perhaps he is one of the best example of a never say die attitude. His guts and grits can be immensely motivating for persons running away from life and its realities.

His Bollywood journey has been both rocky and rocking. At a time when his professional obituary was almost being written he bounced back with "Munna Bhai MBBS".This movie became a runaway success and a cult classic.

He is one among the few in Bollywood who gets along famously with every one from  the three  Khans, to the macho Akshay and from big B to solo Govinda. His sheer presence in the movie screen has many times become reasons for the movie to create ripples at the box office. From Vastav to Khalnayak, from Aatish to Agneepeth he has always come out as a power house of superlative performance. I don't subscribe to any fan club yet I have seen almost all his movies. Many of them may not have been a paisa vasool but none were any disappointments. I have all my praise for him.

I feel he has been lucky getting away with 5 years imprisonment for his role in 1993 Mumbai Blast. Remember the blast was most destructive and  left behind over 500 dead and 1000 crippled. Now don't you feel our most benevolent Munna Bhai  should  have given his "Jaduo ki Jhappi" to the Mubaites that day by informing the police about the conspiracy that was about to blast . Had he done so he would have become our Hero No1 beyond the reel into the real life. I am sure  his act of safe keeping AK 47 and grenades cannot be called an act of innocence. After all he is not  simply our  Munna, he is our all time favorite Muna Bhai and I don't believe in  calling Munnabhai a ...."Papu"!

MY MODISTORY

I am one among 900  million plus    "nuts and bolts" of our  Democracy , who   become "faceless" faces in the crowd after  every 5 years.  Year 2014 election was in every sense historic It was beyond doubt a landslide victory for BJP and the beginning of  the so called "MODI" Raj  In year 2014 my reason and my josh for  casting my vote for  BJP was "Modi". His speeches were "sparkling confidence" that set ablaze the confidence of  the nation that was trying to rise up from the cesspool of corruption   Looking back now after 11 years I realise that year 2014 was also  the beginning of era called   "Political Branding" that would  covert  a "politician" into a larger than life  "Mega Leader" Perhaps that is the reason that today in politics "anti-incumbency" does not matter at all . Here are  in brief  a Common man's  bunch of thoughts on "Modi Story". These ...

CLARITY IN CHAOS

The Bhagavad Gita is a living scripture  universally relevant  today as it was 5000 years ago in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. It is a divine conversation that took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra  between two best  friends, Lord Krishna the Charioteer and Arjuna the warrior.  'Bhagavad Gita' is an integral part of of Indian mythology  I have always believed mythology is not for everyone including me.  So when my friend, the author of the book  "Understanding Bhagavad Gita", gave me a  copy to review , I was not very comfortable.  I like  'Arjuna'  started looking for excuses . However one day not very soon , "The Recipe For A Better Life " the part of the title  hooked me into reading it The author has covered the essence of 'Gita' inside the  160 pages, through   eighteen Chapters.  Every chapter has an "Introduction", a "Summary" and a "Reflection" The simplicity of his writing gives...
