Waiting for our bones...!

India is virtually hit by a tsunami called "people-emotion".Their total outburst against the
unstoppable avalanche of political & governmental corruption makes absolute sense. The huge sea of humanity pitching in with Anna Hazare for his war against this corruption is 'verylogical' and not 'illogical'.

Our wafer thin trust on the political system of our democracy has surely reached a point of breaking. Our politicians and our economists generally remain concerned about the upheavals & unrest in Libya,Egypt & other nations. They never fail to show their concern about the economic meltdown in America & Europe. However when it comes to our domestic economy and the magnitude of corruption at home, they instantly get into the game of using statistics and playing monkey and making us ride a crocodile to nowhere.

Today the politicians and political parties have made our parliament a den for conspirators, for arm twisting & tongue whipping for their individual selfish & self gains. The parliament is no more the institution that it was meant to be under the Constitution. The ruling party & the party in the opposition are both the masterminds and master keys responsible for driving the nation without steering the wheels.

Today Anna Hazare has defiantly become our mentor to free us from clinging to the clutches of politicians & political parties. However when we find our legs to walk again, there may be no road signs to tell us which way to go. The fear looms large confronting the same politicians waging their tails, hanging their tongues.....waiting for our bones... !

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
