But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election.
In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members .
'Jaago-re' & 'Ungli utha vote kar' campaigns may remain vibrant to bring the voters to the polling booth. However time alone can testify their success. In the meantime it is worth our while to take notice and behave responsibly and prevent the 'big, small & sundry' political parties from misleading us. Let us not play into their hands and help creating ethnic, religious and linguistic disturbances. It is time for us to start serious "national" debate into options for alternate governance..that is energetic, enthusiastic and youthful in giving a meaningful direction to this intellectually powerful and globally vibrant nation that is waiting on her wings to become a reckoning world leader. Let us come together and initiate 'movements' that will ensure that in future, elections are won not on ability to negotiate maximum number of allies to form the government but on the ability and evidence of responsible governance. After all how long should we remain a "PAPU" at the hands of these highly manipulative ..'big,small and sundry'political parties.
Can we ensure that if not now at least in year 2014 we are able to bring in a government that is young, energetic, responsible and above all remain a positive performer? Can we look forward for this "CHANGE" to happen to our sweet 16th LOK SABHA.?...
Yes "WE CAN"...after all..."PAPU" Can also.. "VOTE OUT"...Sala.....!

A very good effort, but it is yet to be seen how this actually gets converted into bringing a party to power which can boast of a good governance. In today's age of coilation form of government, the agenda's of the political party you vote gets lost with the overall manifesto the "UPA" and "NDA" manifesto wherein the individual agenda of the political party is seen nowhere.

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
