' May ' & ' May not '..

I respect my vote and never treat it as a discount coupon to get a 20% off on a branded wear. I take pride in raising my left hand index finger to show off the election ink and remain one among the 714 million voters who casted their ballots in this year 2009 general elections. The out come of this election 'may' or 'may not' take note of Aam Admi's concern for job and prosperity. The outcome of this election 'may' or 'may not' take issue of Aam Admi's security in list of priorities. The out come this election 'may' or 'may not' threadbare the linen of secularism through politics of cast, region and religion. The out come of this election 'may' or 'may not' ensure the 'back' transfer of politicians 'Swiss' 'accounts'. Well all these 'may' and 'may not' will figure in the final run check of media's political analysis. For now however we need to wait for sure to see the 'might' of the 'Saturday Night' 'fever' (May 16th) and watch the arithmetic jugglery of national political parties in creating and re-creating the magic figure of 272. The 'may' & 'may not' factors will surface only when we know who among the "AMs"(Advani,ManMohan) and "PMs"(Pawar &Maya) will eventually win the "Lead India" race.
Will 15th Lok-Sabha usher in a 'vanilla governance' Or a 'tutti phooti' governance..? will it repeat 'Singh as the king'..? . All this and some more may remain a 'Sunday' or a 'someday' 'breaking news' for the TV channels but for Aam Admi the life will continue to remain 'back breaking' until some kind of "26/11" will make him the 'breaking news' for the TV channels...& when that happens the TRP is bound to hit the sky. Incidentally here 'May & 'May not' will never remain a..?

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
