Pain of their plain truth..

Patriotism surely will continue to remain the last resort of the scoundrels but not politics. In today's independent India Politics seems to have emerged as the first and the only resort of the scoundrels. Our parliament has overwhelmingly a greater percentage of criminals than the world outside the parliament. How can we therefore hope for leaders to emerge from such parliament to lead us and the country.

The politicians are frankly the only tribe enjoying to the hilt the freedom that we won from the British. Over the years they have perfected their art of yarning stories of growth amidist scheming scams, plotting scandals & brewing venom.

To-day the entire nation is behind Anna Hazare's movement against corruption. Every one of us are standing up and speaking for Anna & his team and his war against corruption. Initially the politicians grossly under estimated this movement. Now they see in it a serious and devastating threat to their dynasty & their imperialism. The tabling of the Jan Lok Pal bill in the parliament was totally an act of their face saving desperation

The government in power has also become restless. They are all out to push ahead smear campaigning the people's movement against corruption. The politicians in the country have come to realize that this Anna Hazare's movement can soon take away their power, arrogance and become a serious threat to their opportunity to plunder& loot.

This is the time for all of us to stand together and ensure the flickers of HOPE that ANNA & his team has kindeled for the country is kept alive and burning. Let us make sure this is the beginning of the countdown for our politicians to suffer the pain of their plain truth...

I sure hope that the flame keeps alive for a little longer and the media doesn't orphan the cause the way it does 2 days after a bomb blast.

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
