Ticket to politics..

Hats off to UPA's generosity. They continue to deliver one blunder after the other. They are practically serving on the platters, scams after scams for the opposition parties to take on them. However a 'not so' united opposition and a politically unwise BJP are not able to muster enough grit & valor to seize these as opportunities to replace a bad governance with good governance. There is nothing wrong with our democracy. What can democracy do if our parliament proves a helpless spectator watching the "man" at the helm succumbing to back seat driving.

It is not that the country has not progressed in spite and not withstanding economics of corruptions & black money. However the potential for our growth remains grossly under used because of vested agenda and decaying politics.

Coming to politics... how can ?...the seasoned & veteran politicians and political parties allow a yoga guru to go around splurging money and making mockery of politics by turning it to a circus of political "assans". It is the responsibility of BJP stalwarts and other political veterans to ensure that good governance is restored and ensure that politics in this country does not remain hijacked by "Yoga" Gurus and "Yuv" Rajs'.

No doubt Baba Ram Dev is one among the finest yoga guru available to the stressed up masses in the country. His impeccable credentials as a Yoga guru has given him a "follower bank" that remains a sheer dizzy in numbers. However it does't give him the moral right to turn these numbers into a voting bank and plunge into national politics using the key word "corruption" & "black money".

Let us be responsible citizens and understand that Baba Ram Dev is a yoga guru of par excellence but that should not be 'read' as his ticket to politics...

In conversation with Bapu....

With 'Sare Jahan Se Achcha' and 'Abide with Me'the Soul-stirring martial tunes and solemn drum beats at the majestic Raisina Hills the "Beating the Retreat" ceremony marked the conclusion of the week long ceremonial functions of India celebrating her 62nd year of Republic. As the illumination lit up the edifices of Imperial India..my thought reached out to that day into the history of independence that finally dropped the curtain on a life called "Gandhi"...the man whose experiment with truth may not have jelled with today but his name has truly become the brand that remain most misused & manipulated both in trade & politics. As I key-in these lines I can read out the conversation that would have transpired between the "soul of Nation" (SON) and "Mahatma Gandhi"(Bapu)....Read on what I read..... SON: Bapu it's me,are you sleeping....? BAPU: How can you ask that...don't you know this day in the year 1948..I was gu...

But 'PAPU' Can "Vote"...'Sala'..!

"Sala".. is a generally accepted slang for both 'hum' the "Hindustani" and 'tum' the "Indian". Together this "HUM TUM" make the "Aam Admi"of the world's largest 'democracy'. This is our "INDIA".I agree with the TV ad that almost says "My India Strongest" in spite of the "Everest" of issues that surround her. Normally in this country the fate of the 'ordinary' people ie 'Aam Admi' always remain woefully harassed, pushed and frustrated through the year. However at the close every 5 years this 'Aam Admi' suddenly become extraordinarily powerful and remain wooed by all 'big, small and sundry' political parties of the country. Yes it is time for General Election. In the coming months for the 15th Lok Sabha, 714 million eligible voters would be 'bee lining' to the ballot boxes across 29 states,6 union territories to elect 543 members . 'Jaago-...

My expiriment with "TRUTH"..

It was today but the year was 1981 and the day was probably a Saturday. I was there on the ceremonial stretch of "Raj path".There were about 4 lac people like me "all excited", getting ready for the "action shot" for Richard Atendbrough's film "GANDHI". The scene was Gandhiji's "funeral procession".I was wearing white khadi "Pajama & Kurta" which I bought from Khadi gram udyog at 'Regal building the previous evening. This was the recommended "dress code" for the shoot. Probably I never thought then that I was about to be part of a "live action crowd" of this magnitude that will never again be filmed. Soon the heavy camera's parked on the cranes started rolling. I lost the count of how many times those giant like cameras zoomed in and zoomed out of me. I was simply emotionally charged walking the stretch shouting "Vande Matram","Mahatma Gandhi" "AmarRahe"...
